    Co-Director, Third Wave Fund

Colleagues and Friends, I foresee gender justice and liberation in our lifetime, do you? We have plenty of guides leading us towards liberation, but who are you on this journey with? In a time when big philanthropy historically disinvests in grassroots organizing to pivot towards electoral work, Third Wave Fund never wavers in staying the course with youth-led, intersectional gender justice movements. I support their work because they hold radical space in philanthropy so that grassroots groups can grow without feeling pressured to shift their vision. Please join me virtually on Wednesday, October 30th at 7PM ET as we conjure joy and raise funds to provide critical support for young queer, trans, and intersex organizers fighting for bodily autonomy. This will be a ticketed event on a suggested scale, but everyone is welcome—you can register without purchasing a ticket. Register today at bit.ly/weforeseeliberation. See you there!

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Jay Diaz and Julio Flores of the Alliance Team attended the inaugural Gender Liberation March in Washington D.C. Attendees marched in support of reproductive rights, gender affirming care, and LGBTQ+ rights. Julio described the event as "An inspiring and empowering moment." PHIMC would like to thank GSA Network for the invitation to attend and the Gender Liberation Movement for organizing the event.

While the term “two-spirit” and its increasing visibility may seem new, Native American and Indigenous peoples have a long history of recognizing two-spirit people within their communities before colonization. In this 2S/Two-Spirit People guide, we uncover the history of the term, its sacred meaning, and guidelines for its usage. We want to emphasize that collective language concerning Indigenous people is complex and has important nuances. The following is intended as an introduction and starting point for further education. #LGBTQ #TwoSpirit #LGBTQIA2S #NativeAmerican #NativeHeritage #Indigenous #IndigenousHeritage #Native #IndigenousIdentity #WeAreIndigenous
