This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the largest cohorts across our three Professional Master’s programs. The future Yellow Jackets attended a variety of panels, a reception, and even began some of their courses. We are excited to see what all 99 of them will achieve over the next two years!

Georgia Tech’s User Experience (UX) team is hosting research sessions and conducting usability tests to enhance the experience for those interested in the university. Over the next three months, the UX team aims to better understand how people think about, use, and find value in Georgia Tech’s websites. The UX team is looking for a variety of perspectives. If you’re interested in participating, please fill out the eligibility survey in the comments. If you meet the criteria to participate, a UX team member will contact you to schedule a time for the usability testing. Participants will join a one-on-one remote session, where they’ll complete tasks on a computer or mobile phone while sharing their screen. Participants will also be compensated for their time! Time is running out! We’re less than two months away from this year’s Affordable #DegreesAtScale Symposium. So, who would benefit from attending? Attendees can expect valuable discussions on a decade of scaled degrees, including best practices for creating, growing, and sustaining at-scale programs, as well as insights into the challenges and innovations shaping the future. Past attendees have included university presidents, provosts, deans, professors, directors of strategy, instructional designers, and digital learning analysts. Georgia Tech is headed to the Darpa AI Cyber Challenge finals! Team Atlanta demonstrated their cybersecurity skills and expertise by not only meeting the challenge but also uncovering a zero-day vulnerability. OMS Cybersecurity professor Taesoo Kim helped assemble the winning team that will compete in the final round next year. https://vist.ly/3estn

We love it when academic excellence generates tangible results! Each year, the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals honors future leaders in the privacy and data collection field. We proudly celebrate OMS Cybersecurity student David Burrus, who received Georgia Tech’s 2023-2024 Westin Scholar Award for Excellence in Privacy. Additionally, we congratulate OMS Analytics student Jennifer Spice as the runner-up for the same award.
