Are you interested in joining the Construction industry and not sure where to start? If you're ready to learn about a career in construction while making an impact in your community, then HabiCorps may be right for you! The construction industry remains incredibly diverse, with jobs available in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors. Get the hands-on experience you need to jump-start your career by training with HabiCorps. HabiCorps is an AmeriCorps program that provides meaningful, hands-on training focused on construction trades and landscape/property maintenance. Trainees serve the community while building Habitat for Humanity homes for families in need. All HabiCorps trainees receive a living allowance and may be eligible for health care and child care benefits along with student loan forbearance. Following successful completion of the program, trainees will receive job placement assistance and an education award that can be applied to student loans or further education and training. Our next Virtual Information Sessions will be held on Thurs, September 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST. In honor of today, Habitat Chesapeake wanted to celebrate some our accomplishments so far this year: 🏠 Celebrated our 800th home dedication! 🏠 We raise $1.2+ million annually to support Habitat Chesapeake’s mission of building affordable homes. 📚We ensure our homeowners have access to quality financial literacy classes and services to ensure that they are set up to be successful Habitat homeowners. 🤝42,000 volunteer hours completed annually. ♻️ Across all our Restores, we save 5.5 million lbs from landfills annually. Last week two of our staff had the pleasure of attending the graduation of the Gold Star Interns at Blind Industries and Services of Maryland.
