About us
Heart of Courage, a 501(c)(3) is committed to a single goal; helping mothers regain custody of their children. Heart of Courage was established to provide mentoring and advocacy services for women who have had their children placed in the Texas foster care system and wish to be reunited with their child or children. There is a growing number of children being placed in the foster care system. Many of their mothers have lost custody due to drug addiction, incarceration, domestic violence, mental health and even homelessness. Heart of Courage works with mothers who have decided to fully commit to making the necessary changes to get their children back in their homes and back in their arms. Heart of Courage provides vital ongoing support to assist mothers in maintaining the courage to take the steps they need by following our mission statement of helping them to discover and develop their attitudes, goals and expectations.

We believe in the fundamental importance of keeping families together, and our work revolves around reuniting loved ones separated by circumstances beyond their control. We work closely with moms to help reunite them with their children whether it includes in peer advocacy, court advocacy, mentoring and even career coaching. Together, we can advocate and promote the reunification of families.
