The Mindful Gentleman: - Only 5.2% of men actively engage in mindfulness practices. - Just 7% of men make their mental health a priority. - A concerning 12.1% of men experience poor health. - Alarmingly, 65% of men are hesitant to reach out for help regarding their mental health issues. I want to thank lululemon for allowing me to create a dedicated space for men to come together and engage in meaningful discussions about the challenges we face in daily life. Keren Landman's thoughtful article talks a lot about how social media has exacerbated our anxiety about wellness (#same) in a world that feels out of control – and it doesn’t help that many food and beverage brands are trading on this fear by over-promising and under-delivering miracle cures or actively encouraging folks to skip the foundational steps and sip their way to a wellness shortcut. This might lead to a short-term sales boost, but in the long run it risks damaging the perception of the entire functional beverage category while also robbing people of the motivation to make better choices. At heywell, we believe small steps can make a difference – that wellness doesn’t come in a can but that we can help. We’re careful about using functional ingredients you can feel without experimenting on the fringes or going overboard. We’re focused on occasion-relevant benefits that are meant to exist alongside your wellness routines – not replace them.
