The Sanford Agricultural Marketplace is nestled in downtown Sanford, a city known for its bricks and murals. We designed the Marketplace to incorporate elements tied to the surrounding community, using shades and textures that echo Sanford's brick heritage. The site, once a beloved landmark, featured large red industrial doors, that we’ve given a nod to by reusing the original door hardware on a newly designed door that will be a backdrop for future events. The Marketplace includes a demo kitchen for cooking classes, a commercial kitchen for local vendors, and a covered open-air farmers market supporting year-round local produce. This facility reflects the City's commitment to community wellness by creating a multi-functional space that promotes healthy living, social interaction, and local economic growth. #NationalWellnessMonth #CommunityWellness #SanfordNC #ArchitectureAndWellness

Our team is excited to be actively involved in the Tarboro Road Park project with the City of Raleigh! To help visualize our design intentions, we created a detailed architectural model showcasing multiple scenarios for the project site. This model was a key feature at a recent open house, where we explored various options and gathered essential feedback from the community. #CommunityEngagement #ArchitecturalDesign #DesignVisualization #Architecture #CommunityDriven #Recreation #WhereYouBelong

Happy National Intern Day! 🎉 We can’t celebrate without bragging about our architectural intern, Abby Lundergan. She’s an NC State University student pursuing her Bachelor of Architecture, with a degree in Environmental Design in Architecture (and minors in environmental science and landscape architecture!) already under her belt. Not only is she spending her summer gaining hands-on experience in our studio, she was also a lead instructor at the NC State Design Camp for middle and high school students - where architects and designers from HH Architecture supported her as guest panelists for the final design review. Abby’s mature work ethic and ease in professional environments blows us away each day. We’re thankful she chose to spend her summer internship with us, where she has enjoyed working on a diverse range of design projects and participating in public engagement. In her words, “I have gained a more wholistic understanding of the architectural profession than I thought was possible in one summer. HH Architecture has taught me so much about how an architecture firm operates, collaborates, and prospers.”

The new 49,000 square-foot engineering classroom building at Johnston Community College serves as a landmark for the main campus in Smithfield, NC. The Wood Building houses maker spaces, a robotics lab, mechanical and electrical engineering labs, a physics lab, and staff and faculty offices. Our design team paid special attention to collaboration and study spaces for fostering peer interaction and group study among commuter students, enhancing their educational experience. At HH Architecture, we are dedicated to creating recreational facilities that become a source of pride for the community and are a true reflection of the the people who use them everyday. July is Park and Recreation Month and the theme is “Where You Belong.” What ebetter way to celebrate than highlighting Eppes Recreation Center in Greenville and W.A. Foster Recreation Center in Goldsboro. Both deeply rooted in their tight-knit communities, they truly foster a sense of belonging by embodying the values and history of people who enjoy both spaces! #WhereYouBelong #Recreation #Transformation #HHArchitecture #ParkandRecMonth2024
