The code to transform lives and communities for young people of color. #RevealingGenius #GeniusRevealed
About us
The Hidden Genius Project was founded in 2012 by five Black male entrepreneurs and technologists unnerved by the dramatic juxtaposition between the high unemployment of Black male youth and the plethora of career opportunities within the local technology sector. To address this challenge, they established a program to connect young Black males with the skills, mentors, and experiences that they need to become high-performing entrepreneurs and technologists in a 21st-century global economy. Our mission is to train and mentor Black male youth in technology creation, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills to transform their lives and communities. We seek to reveal the true potential of Black male youth and transform their communities from the inside out. Through our holistic student-centered, project-based approach, we invest in young black men, give them access to technology training, and plug them into an ecosystem of innovation and empowerment through our Intensive Immersion, Catalyst, and Community Partner Programs.

Like many Class of 2024 college graduates, Devin Brice (RICH2 Hidden Genius Alum) began his first years of college off-campus and in isolation, due to social distancing protocol. However, with the support of The Hidden Genius Project, he’s never felt like he’s been alone🫂. Devin credits The Hidden Genius Project as the reason why he went to college in the first place, and for the ongoing support in securing scholarships that make it through all four years.👏🏿 ✨To read Devin’s reflection of his college experience getting his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the California College of the Arts, click: https://lnkd.in/g_YfQFRW #2024collegegrad #Blackcollegegrad #TheHiddenGeniusProject #RevealingGenius #GeniusRevealed #Fineartsdegree

Meet Yaphet Yonas, Richmond Cohort 5 Hidden Genius Alum! ✨ When Yaphet first learned about The Hidden Genius Project from his cousin, he dismissed the idea of joining. His reason? He ”had no interest in computers.” His friends stepped in and let him know the program offered much more. Fast-forward through his 15-month experience, Yaphet earned the 2022 Baba Eugene Lemon Award for Outstanding Technology Projects.👏🏿 👉🏿Click to reveal how Yaphet has stayed connected with The Hidden Genius Project and his plans to pursue a degree in electrical engineering: https://lnkd.in/gfQFuN9X #GeniusRevealed #RevealingGenius #TheHiddenGeniusProject #Blackentrepreneurs #Blacknonprofit #Blackmaleexcellence
