Today we announced that one of our HIGHER co-founders, Phillip Blaydes, is moving into a Chair position as part of the building of a new board structure for the business and our wider group. As part of the reorg, Chris Abbass, Alice Glen (née Roper) and Kathryne Friend (née Snowdon) will join Kelly McGrath-Smith (upon her return from maternity leave in January) as community leaders for the community. We have lots of ambitious plans for 2025 with HIGHER Leaders Network, the Talent100 2025, The State of TA 2025 all playing a major role. Phil will still be around in the community, chairing the monthly Advisory Board meetings, and attending various global leader events over the coming years. HIGHER Community goes to BTF® '24 🔥 Black Tech Fest is one of it's kind, designed to celebrate, uplift and empower Black professionals in Tech. Having gone in '22 with my pals from Twitter, it was so inspiring to see how much it's grown - huge kudos Ashleigh Ainsley FRSA 💙 My favourite part was hearing Rapman speak about creating Supacell. I LOVED this show, and it sheds light on the challenges that people with Sickle cell face (and the lack of understanding means they can face horrific treatment in a crisis when trying to get pain relief). When asked about using his platform for good, his answer really stayed in my head: ''If you've got people ear, you should say something that matters'' We need more people like #Rapman 👏 I headed there with our producer Natalia Suvorova to meet with attendees.. but while we wait for the edits of that, here's a short recap.. #btf24 #blacktechfest #blackintech
