About us
Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) leverages philanthropic resources to mobilize and amplify the power of our communities. We've been building, funding, and fueling Latine power for 40 years. We’re conveners, creating spaces for organizations, the private sector, and philanthropy to connect and collaborate in order to dismantle the inequities that affect the wellbeing of Latines in the U.S. and our communities across the Americas.

This #NationalImmigrantsDay, we honor the 47.8 million people who chose the US as their home and made it stronger with their presence. Immigrants didn't weaken America – they built its railroads, launched its startups, cared for its sick, and fed its communities. They still do. Drop a ❤️ if you're proud of your immigrant heritage or grateful for the immigrants in your life.

#LongReadSunday "The instant bond shared with fellow Latinx through language and culture is remarkable... yet we don't talk about race." Dive into Lina Cardona’s thought-provoking piece that explores the complex intersection of Latinx and Black identities, how colonial legacies shape modern prejudices, her personal journeys of racial awareness and ABFE. A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities's commitment to supporting Afro-Latinx communities. “From the privileged standpoint of an organization like HIP, we felt deeply responsible to act so that these communities receive the support they need. We had to get involved more intentionally, opening the space for the communities of those who live these realities to guide us. HIP's commitment was to accompany, learn, and act, knowing that the answers are at the center of the very communities we serve.” Andrea Villaseñor, Director of Migration and Colibrí Initiative. Over the past six years, HIP has deepened its understanding of how forced migration and climate change intersect. Since our involvement in the 2019 CADF in Honduras, HIP has worked with key advocates for climate, migration, and racial justice, recognizing how these issues are interconnected.
