Hobbs+Black proudly celebrates World Architecture Day! For almost 60 years, we've had the privilege of shaping communities nationwide, particularly in our offices in Ann Arbor, Lansing, Phoenix, and now Detroit. Our architects have transformed these cities by designing spaces that cater to the diverse needs of their people—be it state-of-the-art schools, hospitals, offices, sports facilities, housing, or vibrant restaurants. Our work across all sectors of architecture empowers us to impact the future of the communities we serve. Let's celebrate the architects who are vital in designing beautiful, interconnected communities. #WorldArchitectureDay #HobbsBlackArchitects

We're excited to announce the official opening of our new Detroit office, and we were honored to have Mayor Mike Duggan join us for the celebration! He spoke with our president, Betsy Hobbs- Wagner, about Detroit's ongoing progress, the legacy of Hobbs+Black in Michigan, and our journey to Detroit. We recognize the city's tremendous momentum. We are honored to be part of Detroit's growth through key projects such as The Fort Shelby Hotel, The Outdoor Adventure Center, The Residences at 150 Bagley, and our longstanding work at the Henry Ford Hospital campus. As the firm undertakes key projects in the area, we are dedicated to investing in Detroit's future—not only through our work but also by actively engaging with the community. By volunteering, contributing to the local economy, and connecting with the residents who are driving positive change, we aim to play a meaningful role in the ongoing revitalization of this great city.

Our team had a fantastic time attending the AIA Huron Valley Awards. The Kent County Road Commission's (KCRC) New Central Complex has been honored with a Merit Award in the Large Building category. KCRC manages road infrastructure for 21 townships, serving over 635,000 residents. KCRC established a new headquarters and garage on a 29-acre parcel in the Walker View Industrial Park. The complex boasts a 25,000-square-foot administration office, a 135,000-square-foot vehicle parking and maintenance garage, a 6,000-ton salt barn, a 5,500-square-foot vehicle wash building, an 18,500-square-foot storage building, a fueling station, and more. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to enhancing Michigan's road infrastructure. Thank you to our partners, Owen-Ames-Kimball Co., Matrix Consulting Engineers, Inc., JDH Engineering, Commtech, and Nowak & Fraus Engineers, for their role in this project's success.
