About us
Holtec International is a global turnkey supplier of equipment and services for the Nuclear, Solar, Geothermal, and Fossil Power Generation sectors of the energy and petrochemical industry. As a fully integrated supplier, Holtec possesses in-house capabilities to design, engineer, analyze, construct, license, and deploy the technologies offered by the company; this includes technologies to manage used nuclear fuel and waste discharged from nuclear reactors and wet and dry (air cooled) heat transfer equipment for commercial power plants. Holtec is also developing a Small Modular Reactor (SMR), which will provide for modular, distributed, carbon-free, base-load energy. Holtec International’s industrial activities are principally focused on six continents: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, China, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, the United States and Brazil are among the countries where Holtec International has provided significant goods and services. The domestic market in the United States, however, has been the catalyst for Holtec’s technical innovations in its fields of endeavor, which the company has successfully parlayed into business successes in overseas markets. Over 70% of Holtec’s output is consumed by the domestic power industry; the balance is destined for foreign markets. Holtec’s corporate moorings are firmly and deeply anchored in the power industry: Over 150 power generation stations in the U.S., including over 80 commercial nuclear power plants, have been Holtec customers over the past two decades. Holtec International has a long and excellent reputation for honesty and integrity in business dealings. This reputation is a priceless asset which must be safeguarded continually by all Holtec employees. To succeed, Holttec must have the trust and confidence of its customers, subcontractors, suppliers, fellow associates and the public. Today, Holtec International filed a lawsuit against accounting firm CBIZ Inc., its subsidiary auditing firm CBIZ MHM, CBIZ executive Lonnie Davis, who operated out of CBIZ’s office in Plymouth Meeting, PA, and former Holtec executives Robert Galvin of Farmington, Connecticut and Andrew Ryan of Camden County, New Jersey, for alleged fraud linked to the formation of a rogue self-dealing operation called CBIZ Consulting LLC. The suit alleges that CBIZ Consulting was designed to fraudulently bill and collect hundreds of thousands of dollars from Holtec by using a deceptively similarly name to CBIZ. The complaint alleges egregious business misconduct including fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, civil conspiracy, and accounting malpractice against the CBIZ defendants and the two former Holtec executives. The suit further alleges that CBIZ is believed to have learned of CBIZ Consulting but chose to conceal its findings from Holtec. CBIZ MHM, a financial auditing firm, failed to uncover or notify Holtec of the similarly named but fraudulent company, according to the filing. The lawsuit states that the Defendants collectively caused Plaintiffs over $70 million in damage. “As we allege in our complaint, we should have been able to trust and rely on our accounting and auditing firm, but they led us in a direction that caused significant financial harm to the business,” said Kelly Trice, President of Holtec International. “We are committed to pursuing justice and ensuring accountability of CBIZ and former Holtec employees involved in this egregious misconduct.”

How is LPO’s new Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment (EIR) program positioned to help power America’s nuclear energy resurgence, leverage existing energy assets to help meet load growth demands, and support energy communities across the country? LPO Director Jigar Shah summed it all up earlier from the site of the Holtec Palisades nuclear energy project in western Michigan, where today the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the closing of a $1.52 billion loan guarantee to help bring a nuclear power plant back to life for the first time in American history via this Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)-created program! Bringing a retired nuclear power plant back to life for the first time in American history! Today, LPO and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the closing of a $1.52 billion loan guarantee to Holtec Palisades to help finance the restoration and resumption of service of an 800-MW nuclear generating station in Covert Township, Michigan. This project represents a first-of-a-kind effort by DOE to restart an American nuclear power plant and is also the first financial close of a project financed via LPO's Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment (EIR) program. (See: https://lnkd.in/gWi8EQA9) The Palisades Nuclear Plant, which ceased operations in May 2022, will be brought back online and upgraded to produce clean baseload power until at least 2051, subject to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) licensing approvals. The NRC also issued new guidance to ensure the restart is performed safely and to high standards. Once complete, this project will be the first recommissioning of a retired nuclear power plant in U.S. history—underscoring President Biden and Vice President Harris’ deep commitment to retaining and creating clean power jobs and advancing the U.S. nuclear industry while tackling the climate crisis and helping to achieve our domestic greenhouse gas reduction goals. This project also works toward the widespread deployment of advanced nuclear energy as described in the new update to the DOE Pathways to Commercial Liftoff Advanced Nuclear report (https://lnkd.in/gwuSPwWt), also announced today with a webinar this Friday, October 4th: https://lnkd.in/gKZ-pxtt Read the full DOE announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gWi8EQA9 and see LPO's Holtec Palisades project page for more details: https://lnkd.in/gXMFQ6TN LEARN MORE: • LPO's Holtec Palisades Project Page: https://lnkd.in/gXMFQ6TN • LPO Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment (EIR) Program: Energy.gov/LPO/EIR • LPO Title 17 Clean Energy Financing: https://lnkd.in/gN2jDVbw • DOE Pathways to Commercial Liftoff Advanced Nuclear Energy Updated Report: https://lnkd.in/gbnik7Uz • The Biden-Harris Administration "Investing in America" Agenda: WhiteHouse.gov/Invest • Read about other recent project announcements on LPO's blog: https://lnkd.in/g23s_Uk4 • Explore LPO's full portfolio of projects: Energy.gov/LPO/Projects #DOELPO #FinancingAmericanEnergy #BridgeToBankability #DeployDeployDeploy #Liftoff #OpenForBusiness #BuiltInAmerica #FinancingInnovation #FinancingImpact #FinancingClimateSolutions #FinancingAdvancedNuclear #FinancingNuclearEnergy #EIR #InvestingInAmerica #LPONews #FinancialClose
