Grateful for the opportunity to moderate an inspiring panel at the Climate Film Festival , following the screening of *Power Shift: Defying Fossil Fuels*. These powerful shorts highlight the critical role of individual and collective action in the fight against fossil fuel exploitation. The films spotlight the legacy of Ken Saro-Wiwa’s activism in Nigeria, a community’s push for clean energy in Eugene, Oregon, and John Francis’ transformative journey across America after an oil spill. Each story resonated deeply, reminding us of the urgency to embrace a sustainable future. A big thank you to the talented filmmakers who joined the Q&A: James Hadgis (producer, *Electrifying Eugene*), Majiye Uchibeke (director, *I Am More Dangerous Dead*), and Gwushim Uchibeke (producer, *I Am More Dangerous Dead*). ⚖️ California just passed a historic law requiring gas stoves to carry health warning labels—making it the first state to do so! This is a huge win for public health, as gas stoves release pollutants linked to asthma and cancer. Since the start of the year, the Hot & Toxic campaign has asked that gas stoves carry warning labels about their health harms. We’re not stopping here—this law sets the stage for more states to take action. #PutALabelOnGas "One of the groups pushing for health warning labels has turned to humor to spread its message. Gas Leaks Project released a parody trailer this year for a reality show it calls Hot & Toxic. 3…2…1…🚀! A few weeks ago, the Carbon Mapper coalition invited us to film the launch of the Tanager-1 satellite. It was incredible to document how this technology can be used by everyone to detect methane leaks in their community and help drive action on the ground. These leaks pose a serious threat to the climate and our health. Now that Carbon Mapper is making the invisible visible, we’re one step closer to living on a cleaner and healthier planet. After all, how can we stop something we can’t see?
