Last week, Humana co-sponsored an inspiring event with our friends at Growing Bolder at the Grand Ole Opry, to celebrate older adults and challenge the misconceptions around aging. The New 65+ Selfie Display and Portrait Experience featured photos and stories from people across the country in their 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and beyond—who have passion, purpose, and are aging with enthusiasm. The winner of The New 65+ Selfie Photography Contest, 70-year-old Doreen Ratigan, was also announced and featured throughout the Opry’s 99th birthday-weekend events. “If I can help somebody be a better version of themselves, then I’m their biggest cheerleader,” Ratigan says. “What a gift we have to be on earth. Every day I’m grateful to be a part of this world.” #TheNew65 #ActiveAging

In partnership with the Volunteers of America (VOA), the Medicaid arm of our company, Humana Healthy Horizons®, is working to expand access to integrated healthcare for historically unsupported communities. One area we are helping to support is the Family-Focused Recovery (FFR), VOA’s pioneering, evidence-based approach to treating pregnant women and moms with substance use disorder and their children. VOA is breaking ground on two FFR centers in Lawton, Oklahoma and New Orleans, Louisiana this month, and will open the doors of a brand new FFR center in Columbus, Ohio in early 2025. FFR centers aim to prevent family separation, reduce risk of relapse and provide prolonged care for both the mothers and infants struggling with substance use disorder to reduce neonatal abstinence syndrome and NICU births. Across our lines of business and the Humana Foundation, we've committed more than $31M to VOA since 2019. Learn more about Humana’s partnership with the VOA in our latest press release https://huma.na/4dNTzsP. #HumanaHealthyHorizons #Medicaid #Recovery

Access to care is vital to healthy living and critically important to address health disparities and improve health outcomes. We are excited to share findings from a new study with Harvard University in which patients of senior-focused primary care (SFPC) clinics had 17% more visits with their primary care doctor than patients of other primary care organizations. The impact of SFPC was more significant for Black and low-income patients who received 39% and 21% more primary care visits. Learn more as Dr. Kate Goodrich, Humana’s Chief Medical Officer, discusses the significance of the study and what it means for the patients we serve, the providers we support and the healthcare system overall at https://huma.na/4f1TOl8. #ValueBasedCare #SeniorPrimaryCare #HealthcareResearch

Our thoughts are with those affected by the recent storms across the southeast region of our country. In addition to outreach and assistance with evacuation for many of our most vulnerable members and patients, the Humana Foundation has pledged a total of $1.5 million in relief efforts to the communities affected. “Being there to support the people and communities we serve, especially in times like this, is our main priority. With this being the second hurricane in just a few weeks, we’re completely focused on directing essential resources and care to everyone touched by Hurricane Milton,” said Tiffany Benjamin, CEO of the Humana Foundation.

October is Health Literacy Month—and as it turns out, more than 1 in 3 adults have trouble reading and understanding health information.(1) That means a large portion of the population is struggling to understand who to call or where to go when they need care, all of which can negatively impact health and well-being. That's where Humana comes in. We are simplifying and clarifying health information for our members and patients by providing tools and resources that help everyone better navigate the healthcare system. Because we know that health literacy and health equity go hand in hand. Learn more about these efforts in this year's Humana Impact Report: https://huma.na/3TIsRdP. #HealthLiteracy #HealthLiteracyMonth Source (1) "Health Literacy," https://huma.na/4efl27A, 2024, accessed August 14, 2024 https://huma.na/3TI9Rft

With almost 800 individual Medicare Advantage plans offered across the country in 2025, Humana is focused on providing our members the ability to choose the plan that works best for their budget and lifestyle. “Our members have told us what benefits really matter to them.
