  • HSP is out in the community providing Hurricane Relief for pet parents. We are working hard to provide as much relief to pet parents during this hard time. Today we stopped by several locations throughout Pinellas County to drop off needed pet food donations. We stopped at Roberts Recreation Center and dropped off food, when we arrived they had two cans of dog food left. We also dropped food off for Enoch D. Davis Center and at a Gulfport water distribution site. Our friends at Love My Dog Grooming and Boutique reached out needing some food for a few dogs whose families were displaced from the storm. One dog even survived hours in flooded water. Lastly, we stopped at Dunedin City Hall to drop off the last load of food we had! We plan to make additional stops tomorrow with a supply of pet food. If you or someone you know need food and know of locations to drop off at please reach out to us! HSP is also offering community assistance by helping to staff a pet-friendly church in Palm Harbor. We have staff and volunteers helping cover shifts helping the individuals who were displaced care for their pets. If you are looking to support our Community Hurricane Relief Efforts donations to our Pet Food Pantry can be made week days from 11am- 5pm. Please drop them off at the blue bins. Monetary donations can also be made by visiting https://lnkd.in/gHkCB22 All donations help support our mission and help the community and its pets get back on their feet (paws). Thank you for supporting! If you know someone needing assistance please visit https://lnkd.in/ezfyypQ4 #WeAreHSP #HSPEvent #DonatetoHSP #hurricanerelief #HurricaneRecovery

Our dedicated HSP staff are on-site sheltering with our animals in our new Category 5 rated building. • HSP has received lots of comments and messages about people concerned about needing to evacuate and not being able to take their pets with them because of hotels not allowing them. At the direction of Governor DeSantis, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and FloridaCommerce worked with the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association to waive no-pet policies at lodging establishments in preparation for Hurricane Milton. As Floridians in evacuation zones look for a safe place to stay for themselves and their families, they can be assured their pets are able to come with them. The following hotel brands have relaxed pet policies and/or waived pet fees across all Florida Locations: Marriott* Hilton* HDG/ARK Hotels Kimpton Hotels Innisfree Hotels Rosen Hotels Red Roof Inn Florida Locations LaQuinta Hotels Motel 6 Locations Best Western Locations Holiday Inn Locations * The majority of Florida locations have relaxed pet policies and fees. Please call the individual location to verify their participation. To find available lodging establishments, VISIT FLORIDA has worked with Expedia (https://lnkd.in/eVe2P2VD) and Priceline (https://lnkd.in/eA8FEUur) to provide emergency accommodations portals. If need to evacuate please make that decision today and now for your safety and your pets.
