The ribbon is cut—on our newest clinic! ✂️ Huntsville Hospital's award-winning cardiac care is now available to children and adolescents through HH Heart Center Pediatric Cardiology. The clinic provides North Alabama families a new local treatment option for kids from birth to 18 years old with acute or chronic heart conditions. Helping us do what we do best—care for the hearts of our little ones! 🫶💓 Special thanks to our physicians, staff, leadership, media, and local government for joining us at Wednesday's ribbon cutting.

We are excited to introduce Crystal Henderson, RN, as the new director of our Orthopedic Trauma Unit! 🙌 Crystal earned her nursing degree from Wallace State Community College and has almost two decades of experience as a bedside caregiver, charge nurse and case manager. We knew she was ready to step up to a bigger role after she helped convert the Ortho Trauma floor into a COVID care unit almost overnight back in 2020. Crystal comes from a long line of North Alabama health care professionals. Her mother was a nurse👩⚕️, her stepfather was a primary care physician🩺, and both of her brothers are dentists.🦷 Please help us congratulate Crystal on her promotion! 👏

Nina Vincent proves you can make a profound difference for patients without ever setting foot in a hospital room. As coordinator of our Reservation Center, she helps control the flow of patients through our facilities. It’s a complex job that Nina handles with incredible skill and grace. “She’s a superstar,” says a colleague. “She guides her team through sometimes stressful situations while maintaining her composure and inspiring the same from those around her. She goes above and beyond to help our patients to the right room and advocates for patients she will likely never see. The organization would not run without her.” We agree and are excited to recognize Nina as our August Employee of the Month! 👏💚🎉🎈🏥

🌼 Another day, another DAISY! 🌼 We surprised Vickie Owens, RN, with our highest nursing honor after receiving multiple glowing emails from Progressive Surgery Unit III patients and their loved ones. For one patient needing a new central line, Vickie worked the phones until she found the perfect replacement part and then drove to another HH facility to pick it up. “She put herself out and made sure we had the most optimal solution – not just an acceptable one,” the patient’s family said. “That is exceptional service from an exceptional nurse!” Another patient said Vickie “went above and beyond the call of duty” to help control a scary bleeding situation. “If there were more people like Vickie in the world, it would be a better place. I’ve been hospitalized an awful lot, and she is the best nurse yet.” Please help us congratulate Vickie on her well-earned DAISY Award! 💚🏆💪

🛠️ We are continually expanding and improving our downtown campus to keep up with the Rocket City’s dramatic growth. 📈 For the past year, we have been remodeling nearly 10,000 square feet of clinical space on the 4th floor with new flooring, central air and heat, energy-efficient windows and more. Here’s a sneak peek at the upgrades before our Progressive Surgery Unit I team moves back in. 👀
