The Huntsville Hospital Foundation team is thrilled and honored to announce we have received a $10 million donation from an anonymous donor, representing the largest-ever philanthropic gift in Huntsville Hospital’s 129-year history. The historic gift was given in gratitude for the excellent and compassionate care the donor received at Huntsville Hospital Heart Center, and has provided a catalyst for Huntsville Hospital’s just-announced $150 million community investment: the addition of five floors and 100 hospital rooms to the Madison Street Tower. This project will launch a new era for cardiovascular medicine in North Alabama. Although this grateful patient chooses to remain anonymous, the impact of their gift will be felt by Huntsville Hospital patients and our community for generations to come. Congratulations to HHF Board Member Dr. Tarak Vasavada on his accomplishments at UAB Heersink School of Medicine. HHF's Development Council made a goal to create a special delivery for every nurses' station across our three Madison County hospitals. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to deliver more than 70 curated boxes of snacks and treats to our nurses during Nurses Week just to say thank you and recognize them for the incredible and selfless ways they serve our patients. The Huntsville Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees met earlier today and approved $1,179,634 in funding for Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children and Madison Hospital. The state-of-the-art equipment listed below will soon be purchased to assist our health care teams in providing exceptional to patients and their families. This funding would not be possible without the generosity and support of donors like YOU to Huntsville Hospital Foundation. Thank you for making an impact on countless lives in our community!

A brand-new Mobile Medical Unit rolled out this month! The new truck and 25-foot trailer—custom built for medical capabilities—enables Huntsville Hospital’s skilled care team to more easily hit the road and directly deliver basic and preventative health care to underserved neighborhoods and patients. Routine stops include area senior centers, homeless shelters, nonprofits and community events. Our MMU program offers a safe, caring, predictable environment, and functions as a "medical home" to many — at absolutely no cost to them. Every service associated with the MMU is free of charge, including screenings, diagnostics and even necessary follow-ups like labs or images. Many lives have been touched, changed, prolonged and saved. The new trailer and truck amplifies this work and the MMU team's ability to better reach those who depend on them.
