About us

Hurtigruten is one of the world’s great journeys, sailing and caring for the Norwegian coast since 1893. We are proud to be a national icon for generations of Norwegians and to have a special place in the hearts of our guests from around the world. Our Original voyages connect 34 coastal communities. It is the classic way to travel the Norwegian coast as a local and has rightly become known as ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage’. To mark our 130-year anniversary, we launched an exclusive range of Signature cruises. These premium sailings showcase our favourite places of Norway’s coast with several hours spent in each port. Along with HX and Hurtigruten Svalbard, we are part of Hurtigruten Group, the global leader in sustainable, inspirational adventure travel, employing more than 2,400 staff and crew from over 50 nationalities.

  • This January, the Hurtigruten UK team brought home the “Best Specialist Cruise Company” award at the Globe Travel Awards! 🏆 Winning this award is no small feat — especially in a market as diverse and competitive as the UK cruise industry. What makes this recognition even more special? It’s voted for solely by UK travel agents. Being acknowledged by our B2B partners in this way is both humbling and meaningful. Over the past 12 months, we’ve made significant strides in the UK with our unique product and the strong relationships we’ve built – the future is looking incredibly exciting 🚢 Read more about the awards here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eR2WC8mY 📷 Steve Dunlop for Travel Weekly

Tusen takk for støtten. 🌟

  • Hurtigruten highlights Sea Zero project and commitment to industry collaboration at high-level roundtable in London 🌍 Earlier this week, the Hurtigruten team in the UK had the privilege of participating in a high-level roundtable breakfast meeting with Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, Cecilie T. Myrseth, at the Norwegian Embassy in London. This discussion brought together UK representatives from across Norwegian industry to explore opportunities for bilateral industrial collaboration and underline the importance of strong partnerships between businesses and international governments. Our representative, Iain Powell (VP Sales & Marketing – UK, EMEA, Nordics), took the opportunity to highlight Hurtigruten's Sea Zero project – a groundbreaking initiative that aims to develop the world's first emission-free cruise ship, designed to be the most energy-efficient in its class, it will feature innovative technologies, including wind and solar sails, advanced battery banks and ‘smart’ cabins. In addition, he signalled our strong appetite for continued collaboration with industry partners and government as we work towards advancing more sustainable initiatives across maritime industries. A big thank you to the Norwegian Embassy and Innovasjon Norge in London for facilitating this important and insightful dialogue. Together, we can drive innovation and lead the way for our industry. #Sustainability #InnovationNorway #SeaZero #MaritimeIndustry

Authenticity meets innovation: Hurtigruten’s Bread Revolution 🍞🌿 At Hurtigruten, we’re always exploring new ideas — this time, it’s all about bread! Collaborating with Macks Ølbryggeri AS, Kaffebønna Bakery, and Lyngen Seaweed, we’ve created two unique breads that reduce food waste and highlight local resources;    ✔️ Hurtigruten's brewer's grain bread: Crafted with 20% spent grain, a nutritious by-product of brewing. ✔️ Hurtigruten kelp bread: Featuring sugar kelp from Lyngen for an ocean-inspired flavour.    These breads are the result of genuine efforts to create environmental benefits through collaboration and local expertise. Baked in Tromsø, near Mack’s brewery and our ship docks, they are made exclusively for our ships and rely on transparent, locally sourced value chains.    💡 Since 2019, we’ve reduced food waste from 261g to just 64g per guest daily. With Norway’s Coastal Kitchen, we’re not just serving meals — we’re offering a hyperlocal dining experience that makes a real difference.
