💡 𝐙𝐄𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐋 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐧! 🚀 Earlier this week, we kicked off the #ZEROSTEEL project, an ambitious initiative to transform #steel #production toward #carbonneutrality through #hydrogen and #renewable energy. Funded by the #HorizonEurope program and coordinated by TU Bergakademie Freiberg and Prof. Dr. Alexandros Charitos, ZEROSTEEL is ready to pave the way for sustainable steelmaking. MNLT Innovations is thrilled to lead the Sustainability Work Package, where we’ll drive the project’s sustainability assessment and commercialization strategy. Development funding for Africa's first-ever green iron plant 🌿 We are pleased to share that our Namibian joint venture, Nam-H2 Fund Managers, has signed a Development Funding Agreement with HyIron to develop Africa’s first carbon-free iron plant. The Oshivela Plant, one of the first industrial-scale green iron plants in the world, will: ✅ Produce climate-neutral iron using green hydrogen, helping decarbonise the hard-to-abate iron and steel sector ✅ Avoid 3.6 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually ✅ Create 900 permanent jobs and 6,000 construction jobs, fostering socio-economic development in Namibia Mercia Geises, CEO of Nam-H2 Fund Managers, said: “HyIron’s Oshivela Project is a ground breaking initiative that significantly reduces the carbon footprint of heavy industry. Now we have news almost everyday. Today the furnace arrived in Walvis Bay and next week we will start with the installation. We will keep you posted…..
