ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) is a certification body that is a subsidiary of the International Code Council and is accredited by the ANSI National National Accreditation Board (ANAB), American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), Standards Council of Canada (SCC), Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación (EMA) for Mexico, JAS-ANZ in the Oceania region and other entities to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17065. With nearly a century of experience, ICC-ES has been the industry leader in performing technical evaluations and product certification for code compliance. Beyond the benefits that apply in general to standardized material, standard specifications lead to wider acceptance of a building material by increasing confidence in the public and with professionals who use the product. Eventually, these standards can be used as the basis for inclusion in building codes. ICC is currently developing a standard (ICC 1125) to address magnesium oxide building products. As with any innovative building product, manufacturers of MgO boards must demonstrate to their customers and local authorities having jurisdiction that their products are safe and effective.
