Better Late Than Never: My 2024 Recap It’s already 8 days into 2025, but reflecting on 2024 feels too important to skip—so here it goes! I entered 2024 with a single goal: to explore new career paths. My journey in tech began with front-end engineering, where I mastered tools like HTML, CSS, and React. However, as I progressed, I realized it wasn’t where I saw myself long term. I wanted to find a career path that was both challenging and fulfilling, so I decided to explore fields I hadn’t considered before. That decision led to one of my first major milestones: the ARM Young Talent Programme (AYTP). Over two transformative months at Asset & Resource Management Holding Company (ARM HoldCo). I had the opportunity to work with incredible mentors and peers. The first phase of the program was intense: my team was tasked with proposing an AI-driven solution to enhance organizational processes. We dove deep, learned quickly, and ultimately won the ‘Best Team’ Award for our presentation. Special thanks to my amazing mentors— Wakezhi Abama, Eddy Ayikimi, PM - CXPA, WAACSP, Emmanuel Omofuriota, Nkiru Monye, and my personal mentor Rashidat Taiwo —whose guidance shaped our success. I was also honored to be named the ‘Best Intern’ of AYTP 2024. In the work phase, I joined the Data & Insights team, where I deepened my interest in the field of data . Shoutout to Ayodele Oluleye and Openiyi Tosin for their invaluable support. And to my incredible teammates and fellow interns—Yusuf Giwa, Abdulqudus Bamigboye, Fatimah Lawal, Qudus Abolade and many more—you all made this journey unforgettable. Transitioning into the field of data wasn’t without its challenges. I had to rebuild my skillset, starting from scratch in a new domain while staying open to learning and growth. I enrolled in two diploma programs, including one at Idealnovate Africa, where I proudly graduated as the 2nd best in my cohort. Along the way, I also discovered the power of networking and collaboration—lessons that will stay with me throughout my career. Looking back, one of the most important things I learned in 2024 is that opportunities often come through connections, mentorship, and actively seeking growth. While clicking "apply" on job postings is essential, the relationships I built with mentors, peers, and teammates have been equally transformative in shaping my journey. As I start 2025 as a final-year Computer Science student with my capstone project looming ahead, I’m filled with excitement and determination. I’ve set my sights on a future in data and am committed to refining my skills, embracing new challenges, and continuing to grow. 2024 taught me that the path to success isn’t always straightforward, but great things are always within reach with hard work, collaboration, and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone. Here’s to a year of growth, resilience, and new milestones!

Taking a moment to reflect and share (fashionably late!) I’m honored to have received the professional data analysis certification from Idealnovate Africa in December 2024, I am so elated I remember how I started this journey into tech. In September 2024, I came cross Adeife Adeoye on instagram she was talking about how to make money online what I learnt then was that *start learning a skill on coursera and building yourself in the public by creating content about the skill you are learning* Then I started watching her video’s on instagram i was holiday that from August to November I was a passionate about Data analysis because I was taught In my 200 level, data analysis using spss as a tool so i wanted to download coursera on my phone but it was on working out then I went online to go and search for free course on data analysis then I discovered that Idealnovate Africa was doing a free course on data analysis and I join it was an answer to my prayers, it was an opportunity that really helped me, it gave me clear insight about what data analysis means And after that I join the cohort 1. The journey to acquiring this certification has been incredibly insightful. I’ve gained deeper knowledge and practical skills in advanced data visualization, Excel, Power BI,Database SQL, which I am excited to apply to real-world challenges. All thanks to God and to my instructor Mr. Marvelous and mentor who made the learning experience engaging and impactful. I’m looking forward to transform data into actionable insight, optimize processes, and achieve a remarkable results.
