Improving lives with data and evidence

About us

IDinsight helps leaders combat poverty worldwide by designing, deploying and promoting evidence-generating tools. We tailor the best methodologies to partner needs and constraints to fuse evidence with action. We serve governments, NGOs, foundations and social businesses across Africa and Asia in all major program areas including health, education, agriculture, livelihoods, finance, energy and governance. Our approach rests on four pillars: 1. Rigorous: We develop and use a wide-range of cutting edge data and evidence tools, including experimental evaluations, monitoring systems, data analytics and visualization, process evaluations, machine learning and more. 2. Cost-effective: Every dollar spent is justified by expected impact. If funds could be better used in another way, we say so. 3. Timely: Actionable information is delivered in time for client decision-making deadlines. 4. Demand-driven: We deploy solutions tailored to partner contexts and needs with no competing agendas. Our diverse, growing team of over 200 outstanding colleagues operate in nearly two dozen countries around the world. Learn more at www.IDinsight.org.

📣 This week, we held a validation workshop in Nairobi to engage national and county-level #health stakeholders and experts in reviewing our health landscaping study findings. ⛑️ IDinsight, in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has been mapping health sector information flows in Kenya to improve accountability and public service delivery. Our study aims to address critical gaps and inform decisions on health budgeting, policy development, and strategic planning. 🙏 We extend our heartfelt thanks to all stakeholders who attended and contributed valuable feedback. Moving forward, our team — Simon Otieno Josiah, Grace Mukami Muriithi, Winfred Kananu, Emma Kimani, Torben Fischer, and Martin —will incorporate these insights to enhance the study’s impact. 🔔 Stay tuned for more updates on our study. 🔗 To know more about our work in the health sector, check out our recent publications: https://lnkd.in/g5-CDr5F

#HumansOfIDinsight | "As I often put it, my journey to IDinsight started before I was even born. With both parents who worked in the social sector in Vietnam, it was always clear to me that my professional journey would have to involve bringing positive changes to people and communities. At the same time, I am well aware of the pitfalls and false promises that are too common in development, which often lead to long-term consequences for the people it is presumed to help. Whatever I do, I want to avoid being part of the problem as best I can. It was with this mindset that I started my job search after finishing my Master’s, and that’s how IDinsight came up. At that time, IDinsight was looking for an Associate to support their first full project in Vietnam. I was interested in the work, but more importantly, I was impressed with IDinsight’s visible commitment to reducing power imbalances in the sector and doing no harm. So I wrote my cover letter and sent in my application. And two and a half years later, here I (still) am. Of course, IDinsight is not perfect. And it is not always easy being the only staff member in a satellite office. But even remotely, I am surrounded by the most supportive, passionate, and talented colleagues one could ever ask for, all trying our best to do good and do better," shares Linh. -- Linh V. is an Associate at IDinsight, based in Hanoi, Vietnam. 📊 At IDinsight, we’re transforming decision-making in the social sector with innovative data science. Our #MachineLearning models help partners target programs efficiently, ensuring accuracy and equity. Example? Partnering with Educate Girls in India! 🇮🇳 👩🏫 IDinsight developed an innovative Machine Learning model using census data, DISE survey results, and ASER Centre data. This model accurately predicted village-level concentrations of out-of-school girls, enabling Educate Girls to focus their efforts where they were needed most. Due to this, Educate Girls can now support 600,000 more children with the same budget. 🌟 🔗 Discover more about how we’re using inclusive AI to drive change in our report: https://lnkd.in/gD2-cyWb
