  • The Learning Technology Center is offering a free mentoring program specifically for new technology leaders in school districts. This program pairs new IT leaders with trained mentors and veteran K-12 technology leaders who provide personalized, yearlong guidance to help navigate the complexities of K-12 technology leadership. The program includes one-on-one mentoring with at least one onsite visit, virtual meetings, phone calls, texts, and emails, along with strategic planning assistance for entry planning, goal setting, and long-term initiatives. Additionally, optional group sessions offer opportunities for networking and collaboration with peers and thought leaders. New tech directors can receive up to 20 free mentoring hours. The conference begins with a new directors presentation at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 and will be followed with two days of breakout sessions led by ISBE experts and district practitioners.
