It was a great #ICC meeting in Bonita Springs last week! Thanks to those of you who made it to IMCORP’s 44th Technology Users' Group luncheon, where Clark Williams with FPL presented, “FPL URD Commissioning Experience” and reviewed FPL’s assessment of risk, a pre- and post-ROI analysis, stakeholder consensus development, and their pilot implementation with IMCORP. About us
IMCORP, an Osmose company, provides medium to high voltage (5kV to 500kV) underground power cable reliability services for both new and aged cable system installations. Our asset life cycle management services (commissioning and cable life extension) enable clients to improve their cable system reliability and protect their bottom lines. IMCORP’s patented, AI-based technology is capable of identifying issues with workmanship as well as factory or installation defects before cable systems are energized for service, ensuring our clients experience a seamless transition from installation to operation. Additionally, we access cable systems and identify those in need of rehabilitation using IMCORP's AI-based Factory Grade® technology, which allows our customers to restore their cable systems to like-new status. Our Factory Grade® assessments can be capitalized as part of a cable life extension program, and our technology is a non-destructive, cost-effective alternative to wholesale cable replacement, saving many of our clients tens of millions of dollars. Avoiding cable system failures and high O&M costs begins with understanding how cable failures occur and having the ability to detect these defects in advance of a breakdown. For more than two decades, IMCORP has assessed hundreds of millions of feet of cable systems across four continents. Our goal is to partner with our clients to achieve the maximum reliability attainable at the lowest total cost.

Root Cause Analysis results provide valuable information to our clients, whether a utility, renewable developer, electrical contractor, or manufacturer, to determine corrective actions and operational improvements to prevent future defects. This defect could have led to a costly outage had it not been identified using IMCORP's offline 50/60Hz partial discharge test during commissioning activities. Based on evidence revealed during root cause analysis, our lab concluded that the damage to this cable occurred prior to leaving the manufacturing facility. ➡️Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gphdfsWm IMCORP - an Osmose company #RCA #commissioning #PD #partialdischarge #defects #faultlocation #underground #cable #outage #reliability #longevity #assetmanagement #renewables #utility #Osmose #better #knowledgeispower

Detecting cable system defects prior to site energization is key to seamless operation. Also key is utilizing line scanning technology that is sensitive and accurate enough to both detect and locate those defects. Our Factory Grade® technology -- a patented, AI-based offline 50/60 Hz partial discharge test with 5pC sensitivity, does just that. Did you know that 40% of newly installed cable systems have defects? These issues can cost renewable plants up to $100,000 per outage. In this case study, a top wind farm in Texas faced multiple outages and needed a lasting solution. Download the case study to learn how IMCORP®, an Osmose® company, helped overcome the costly obstacle. https://lnkd.in/dy9qBZnn #osmose #renewables #industryexpert #utilityindustry
