What a fantastic day on the golf course! Our Indianapolis team had a great time participating in the “2024 Faith Hope Love (FHL) Golf Classic” charity outing. The Infrastructure Engineering Foundation (IEF) has a long-standing relationship with FHL and was happy to sponsor this annual event once again. Faith Hope Love aims to make an impact in Indianapolis by helping food insecure residents become self-sufficient through their food pantry programs. Supporting our local community is at the heart of what IEI does, and this event was a perfect way to blend business with a bit of fun, while contributing to a great cause. #IEI #GolfOuting #CommunitySupport #Philanthropy #InfrastructureEngineering #FHL #GivingBack

Julius Cousin III, PE recently participated in a community meeting with City of Detroit leaders and residents of the Virginia Park neighborhood to discuss the upcoming reconstruction of the roadways in this historic area. As part of our Program Management contract with the City of Detroit, IEI leads the design team for this project, which aims to restore one of Detroit's few remaining cobblestone streets—a roadway dating back to the 1890s and marked by the events of the 1967 Detroit Uprising. During the meeting, community members voiced their opinions on the street’s restoration, including the preservation of historic bricks, many scarred by military tanks. The $5.3 million project will reconstruct the roadway base; install both salvaged and new historic pavers; repair sidewalks, sewer segments, and driveway approaches; and add new trees and lighting. IEI is excited to be involved in this project and looks forward to delivering sustainable solutions that both respect the area’s history and enrich the community with reimagined infrastructure. #IEI #Infrastructure #DetroitHistory #CommunityEngagement #CivilEngineering

The IEI Chicago team, along with their friends and families, gathered to celebrate each other at Chicago’s iconic Navy Pier for our 2024 summer outing. To start the day, they socialized and enjoyed the skyline views with a lunch aboard the Chicago Elite ship, where there was fun for all ages with face painting, music, and games. After returning to land, the group had their pick of the family-friendly Navy Pier rides and attractions. This Chicago summer outing will be one to remember! IEI appreciates the contributions of the Chicago team. The annual summer outing is an opportunity for us to say, “thank you” for the commitment, enthusiasm, and professionalism that they deliver to our clients every day! #iei #teambuilding #summerouting #celebrate

“Overall, this internship has been incredibly valuable to me, and I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who supported me throughout this journey,” shared Aaron Riley during his presentation at the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Transportation Diversity Recruitment Program Internship (TDRP) event. Aaron completed a summer internship with IEI’s Detroit Construction Inspection Team on the 8.1-mile MDOT I-94 project, from Calhoun County to the I-94/M-60 interchange. For the last several years, IEI has partnered with MDOT’s TDRP Internship Program to offer engineering and construction management students opportunities to gain hands-on experience, developing professional skills and building long-term career goals in the process. IEI is committed to fostering opportunities for students to explore and pursue futures in the AEC industry. #iei #civilengineering #mdot #summerinternships

We are pleased to share that IEI has expanded with a new office in Houston, Texas. This expansion, in alignment with our strategic growth, enhances our ability to serve clients in the region and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions. Corbin Doss, PE, PTOE, is assuming the role of Houston Office Team Leader. With ten years of civil engineering experience and a five-year tenure at IEI, Corbin has a proven track record in both the design and construction management of vital transportation infrastructure projects. His relocation from Chicago underscores his dedication to creating strong relationships with our local Houston clients. Joining Corbin is Cosme Reyes, PE, as Senior Project Engineer. Ikenna Ibe from our New York office represented IEI at the New Jersey Institute of Technology Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)’s closing session. This summer program helps students transition from high school to college, giving them the chance to get a head start on their upcoming fall classes and become familiar with campus resources, making their time at school easier. Ikenna, an EOP alumnus, shared his experiences of how the program has helped him both academically and in his career over the years. He also provided valuable advice to inspire the students to finish the program strongly and prepare for the upcoming semester. Thank you Ikenna for teaching by example and demonstrating a commitment to IEI's culture and values by inspiring and encouraging the next generation of diverse AEC industry talent through opportunities like this. #iei #professionaldevelopment #givingback
