A note from one of the many talented student reporters we worked with last week while producing the Inside Convention highlight show for National FFA Organization, in partnership with our friends at Pence Media Group! We cannot say enough about the passion and work ethic that Taleen Hanna brought to the newsroom!!!!!
Last week, I had the opportunity to return to Indianapolis again for the National FFA Organization Convention. I first attended convention as a competitor, then as a delegate, and for the past few years as a newsroom intern. Every time I come to convention— no matter the capacity— I leave feeling inspired! In the past, I’ve worked on the print team to produce stories throughout the week. This year, there was just one group of FFA Live! reporters. We worked every day to create multimedia stories surrounding the 97th National FFA Convention. Getting out of my comfort zone to stand in front of the camera was nothing short of fun because of the help from professional videographers that we got to work with from the INNOVATIVE team! We then quickly returned to the studio to write a script for video AND radio so that the editors could put our visions together. During that time, we then wrote print copy for Dotdash Meredith New Horizons and copy for social media. This experience was truly enriching because I was able to work alongside some incredible professionals in the industry— and I learned some crucial skills from them! As always, thank you to the wonderful people that made this happen this year and helped me throughout the week: Jeni Bostrom, Pence Media Group, Ashley Renae Jackson, Nicole Halper, Tara Burmis Twigg, Lauren Quinlan, Justin Davey, Tom Brand, Julie Woodard, Larry Downes, and many more who were all part of the team! It truly takes a village. If you would like to view my stories, you can at this link: https://lnkd.in/gvQeqgnG
