"People newly diagnosed with #MultipleSclerosis often pursue ‘health-related’ behavior changes to feel in control of their #diagnosis. However, little is known about the specific factors that may influence behavior change during this crucial time. Therefore, we conducted an in-depth exploration of the #socioecological influences impacting the diagnostic experience and self-management practices following an MS diagnosis." https://lnkd.in/g5C7SGUE Olivia Wills, Sarah Manche, Yasmine Probst

"The current strength of the #evidence for treating #depressive symptoms in [#MultipleSclerosis] is low, therefore, we are not able to summarize or make comparisons between the treatment modalities. There is an urgent need for high-quality and diverse trials investigating treatment options for depression in people with MS. This can only be achieved if the conduct and reporting of RCTs are improved." https://lnkd.in/gYn-6juE Stephanie C., Claudia Marck, Amalia Karahalios

"#Alemtuzumab is administered intravenously (IV) for #relapsing-remitting #MultipleSclerosis (MS), with limited studies of #subcutaneous treatment. We sought to evaluate the pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and safety profile of SC-administered alemtuzumab in people with #progressive #MS." https://lnkd.in/g9JPrtva Xavier Montalban CEMCAT (Centre d'Esclerosi Múltiple de Catalunya)

Study explores the link between #MultipleSclerosis and immune responses to Epstein-Barr virus (#EBV) nuclear antigen 1 (EBNA-1). It found that individuals with MS exhibit elevated antibody levels against EBNA381–452, a key sequence in EBNA-1 that cross-reacts with specific CNS proteins such as GlialCAM, CRYAB, MBP, and ANO2. These cross-reactive responses are notably higher in individuals with MS than in controls and are strongly associated with an increased risk of MS. https://lnkd.in/gT5snsie Medical University of Vienna

#Drugs for #MultipleSclerosis "had what researchers described as 'the most pronounced increase among neurologic conditions,' with the OOP #cost for all of those medications increasing by 217 percent and the total cost increasing by 80 percent. The individual OOP cost rose for each of the MS drugs included in the analysis, while the total individual medication cost rose for all of them but glatiramer. 'Lack of #generics and #biosimilars is likely the attributable reason,' researchers said of the MS cost hikes." https://lnkd.in/gE89gY-S

"In this multicenter nationwide [#SouthKorea] cohort study of adult patients with #MOGAD, we observed that both earlier treatment of the first attack and long-term NSIS maintenance treatment were independently associated with a lower risk of having a relapsing disease course." https://lnkd.in/gKKwtqNF Yonsei University
