Internship Opportunity: IA&A Traveling Exhibition Service Intern
International Arts & Artists (IA&A) is seeking motivated and arts-passionate interns for the Fall 2024 semester to join our dynamic Traveling Exhibition Service (TES). This internship offers students a remarkable opportunity to promote cross-cultural understanding through the arts on both a national and international scale.
About IA&A:
IA&A champions the development of arts nonprofit professionals, offering hands-on experience to students eligible for course or community service credit. Internships at IA&A are designed to align with academic semesters, aiming for a minimum engagement of 16 to 20 hours weekly.
Position Overview:
The chosen candidates will join our TES team, actively participating in the development, management, and promotion of approximately 25 traveling exhibitions. This opportunity is perfect for individuals looking to gain substantive experience in the field of art exhibitions, management, and the extensive processes involved in bringing art to diverse audiences worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research and identify suitable venues for exhibitions across a global network of museums and galleries.
Assist in drafting and sending correspondence (letters, emails) to market the exhibitions and follow up with potential venues.
Maintain and update the contact database and email programs for venues and partners.
Manage and plan engaging content for social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.
Carry out administrative tasks as needed to support exhibition managers and the overall objectives of the TES department.
Requirements:
Pursuing a degree or certificate in Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
Commitment to work between 16 and 20 hours per week.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new software.
Strong written and oral communication abilities.
A team player who can also work independently.
