IREM Austin had an amazing turnout for this year’s TRENDS event! Professionals from across the commercial real estate (CRE) industry gathered to explore the transformative power of AI and its impact on the Austin market. A powerful keynote and expert panel shed light on the future of AI in property management, offering strategies and insights. The annual event wrapped up with a fun networking reception, thanks to our sponsor, PJS. This October 3, IREM Austin observes Latina Equal Pay Day. For the first time in 20 years, the wage gap has widened for Latina workers. A 2020 CREW Network study found that women occupy only 36.7% of the commercial real estate industry. The fixed salary gap between genders in CRE is 10.2% and the commission and bonus gap is a staggering 55.9%. Hispanic/Latina women earn 80 cents for every dollar that men earn in the CRE industry. IREM Austin’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion drives our desire to address inequity amongst our peers. To increase DEI in commercial real estate, organizational leaders must continue to understand the issues at hand, and treat resolving them as a business imperative. IREM offers a new Skill Badge: Building DEI which covers best practices for building equity and strategies to achieve greater inclusion. We encourage our members to check it out! #LatinaEqualPay
