National Hispanic Heritage Month is coming to a close, having served as an opportunity for us to celebrate and honor the rich cultural tapestry that our Hispanic and Latinx employees bring to Huber.     The month kicked-off with an I Belong at Huber Q&A with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Program Manager Monica Estrada. Centered around this year’s theme, “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,” Monica shared how being a first-generation daughter of Mexican parents has shaped her vision for fostering an inclusive environment at Huber. “Navigating [bilingualism] has given me the ability to broaden my perspective, which I have found to be very helpful in my approach to problem solving in the workplace,” shares Monica.  In addition, Huber’s Organization for LatinX Advancement (HOLA) Employee Resource Group (ERG) hosted multiple events, including an engaging, hybrid session on building your personal brand and the annual Chili cook-off in the Atlanta office.  #IBelongAtHuber #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth #DEI #Inclusion

Huber was proud to host the National Association for Environmental, Health & Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) Management (NAEM) for their Atlanta Regional Event. Co-sponsored with Arcadis, local corporate leaders in environmental stewardship and sustainability gathered at our headquarters to network and discuss key topics in the EHS&S space. Presentations included a keynote on empowering the adoption of circularity programs and practices, as well as a synopsis of Huber’s sustainability journey, presented by Emily Thomas, Senior Manager, Corporate Sustainability.  “Safety and sustainability remain at the top of our Huber Principles,” Emily shared with attendees. “We are highly focused on sustainable solutions – the products that we make, and the impact that they leave behind.”  Thank you to NAEM for this opportunity to connect and engage with other like-minded environmental leaders.  #NAEM #Sustainability #CorporateResposibility #EHSS

October is Global Diversity Awareness Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the diverse cultures and communities that contribute to our society and workplace.  Throughout this month, we're amplifying the message that “the most powerful learning tool we have is between our ears,” to encourage one another to tune in to the diverse perspectives around us.   “The enemy of learning is thinking that you know everything about everything,” shares Director of Learning & Talent Development, Carlos Hernandez. “You drive continuous learning through listening and seeking to understand somebody else.”  Within his role, Carlos offers valued insights and perspectives on how we can leverage learning to recognize, appreciate and nurture rich diversity within our Company and beyond.  #DEI #HuberCulture #GlobalDiversityAwarenessMonth

We are immensely proud of our work with Project Lead The Way (PLTW) to be featured as they celebrate Manufacturing Day this year.    Since 2022, the J.M. Huber Corporation has invested $750,000 in the PLTW Grants program, and, in turn, supporting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education across 32 schools.  We fully support PLTW’s mission and value in providing students with STEM programming that will create proper foundational opportunities for them to consider a career within manufacturing.   #HuberHelps #CommunityEngagement #Manufacturing #ManufacturingDay #PLTW

Construction of a new school funded by the Huber Helps 2023 Impact Your Community (IYC) program through a donation to SOS Children's Villages International is now complete in Pemba, Zanzibar! Situated approximately 35 kilometers (22 miles) off the coast of Tanzania, Zanzibar is home to Zanea Seaweed Co., Ltd., of which CP Kelco is the primary shareholder. Set to officially welcome its first 400 students in January 2025, this new facility is expected to bring significant benefits to local children and their families. “This has really been a fantastic experience,” shares Lisbeth Larsen, Global Raw Materials Purchasing and Logistics Manager for CP Kelco, who successfully applied for IYC funding on behalf of SOS Children’s Tanzania in 2023. “This is going to support better lives for many children in the future.” The completion of this school demonstrates why the IYC program was founded six years ago – to support impactful, meaningful projects on a global scale that our employees feel passionate about. #HuberHelps #Education #CommunityEngagement #HuberCulture

In partnership with Thurgood Marshall College Fund, J.M. Huber Corporation awarded ten college students a $10,000 scholarship for their 2024-2025 academic school year, through a donation from Huber Helps. These students are currently studying Engineering, Biology, Computer Science and Finance at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) across seven states. Just in time for National HBCU Week, students received a congratulatory communication from President & CEO Gretchen McClain and VP of Communications and Community Relations, Lea (Chambers) Volpe, as well as a video message from members of Huber’s Black Employees Supporting Talent (BEST) Employee Resource Group (ERG).  “Having that HCBU experience really allowed me to immerse myself with young, black folk who wanted to do something within the community and with their lives,” shared Andrea Johnson-Hall, an HRIS Manager and alumna of Southern University, Baton Rouge.  Congratulations to all scholarship recipients and a huge thank you to the BEST members who shared their advice and memories with these students. #HuberHelps #HuberCulture #HBCU #NationalHBCUWeek

As natural disasters threaten communities around the world, nonprofit organizations like Team Rubicon (TR) play an essential role in providing resources before, during and after a catastrophic event.  Huber Helps’ annual funding directly supports TR’s Ready Reserve Fund, enabling the organization to proactively launch disaster and crisis response operations to vulnerable communities.  In addition to deploying their veteran-led volunteers, aka “Greyshirts,” to serve those affected when disaster strikes, TR places an emphasis on sharing their potentially life-saving emergency preparedness tips. Featured on their blog, topics range from low-cost/no-cost ways to prepare for a hurricane to wildfire mitigation strategies—even how to prepare your pets for disaster.    Huber is proud of our worldclass safety culture, and not only values supporting TR in their mission, but also the vital resources they provide. Head to TR's blog to learn more about disaster preparedness: https://lnkd.in/e6xcfhdW    #NationalPreparednessMonth #HuberHelps
