  • How could we let 904 Day go by without traveling back in time to this article announcing the new 904 area code to Jacksonville? This article appeared in the Florida Times-Union on March 2, 1965. The 904 area code covers nearly all of Northeast Florida and includes most of Duval, Nassau, Baker, Bradford, Clay, St. Johns, and Union counties. From the beaches to the historic sites to downtown Jacksonville... we've come to rely on our beloved 904. On 904 Day, we celebrate all things Jacksonville, especially local businesses and organizations. Come enjoy 904 Day with the Jacksonville Public Library! Remember, the Main Library is open until 9 pm tonight during Art Walk. Check out books and view the artwork on display, then support local vendors and food trucks all around James Weldon Johnson Park.
