Last month, our annual Pacesetter event was a monumental success, with record-breaking attendance! We were incredibly proud to honor Karla and Larry Steinberg, whose unwavering dedication and remarkable contributions have left a lasting impact on our community. 💙 A heartfelt thank you to Truist and everyone who attended, you helped make the evening truly unforgettable. We hope the insightful conversation between Mosab Hassan Yousef and Liel Leibovitz left a meaningful impression. Together, we continue to build a brighter future for all.

On the first anniversary of the horrific October 7th terrorist attacks on Israel, over 1,500 members of our community gathered to remember the victims, honor the survivors, and stand in unity against antisemitism and hatred of all kinds. The evening was marked by moving remarks, prayer, song, and deeply personal testimonies as to how our daily lives have been and continue to be affected by the events and aftermath of the most brutal attack on the Jewish people in recent history. Igor Alterman, President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, reminded us of our community’s resilience and strength in moments of darkness. He affirmed, “this is not a time for complacency or indifference. We must continue to do what’s right…and do the sacred work that reaffirms our Jewish identity, strengthens our love for Israel, and charges us to be unified against the forces of hate.” Thank you to President Bush, Governor Abbott, and to all our participants who attended and who continue to stand in solidarity with the Jewish people and Israel, including elected and appointed officials, clergy, and our allies. Am Yisrael Chai!

President George W. Bush recorded a special message for the Dallas Jewish community yesterday. He reminds us that Americans of all faiths must stand together in times of crisis: “The American people and the American government must support the people of Israel. We honor our shared values in freedom, democracy, and justice. We remain steadfast against terrorism and hatred . . . May God bless Israel. And may God continue to bless America.” Thank you, George W. Bush Presidential Center, for your support on the first anniversary of October 7th.

There have been 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes, and 31,536,000 seconds since the horrific terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023. On this first anniversary, we remember those who tragically lost their lives. We remember those who remain in captivity. We remember that we are one. May their memory be a blessing.
