🚨Delaware's Energy Costs Are Rising—And It’s Not Because of Clean Energy Delmarva Power customers across Delaware are fighting back after higher energy bills this winter left many feeling outraged and used. The true culprit behind the rising price remains the same across the nation, our reliance on natural gas and fossil fuels leaving consumers at the mercy of price spikes while utilities pass the costs along to households. Lawmakers in Delaware are pushing for more transparency in energy pricing and expanding access to diverse, stable energy sources. The message is clear: Energy independence isn’t just about sustainability it’s about protecting consumers from unpredictable costs. Meanwhile, state regulators have questioned Delmarva Power on why customers are paying higher rates while the company continues to report profits. With households struggling to keep up, the call for more accountability and fair pricing is growing louder. Formerly NECEC, ACT is the premier voice of businesses building a world-class clean energy hub in the Northeast.
About us
ACT leads the just, equitable and rapid transition to a clean energy future and diverse climate economy. ACT is the Alliance for Climate Transition and ACT Institute. ACT helps clean energy companies start, scale and succeed with our unique business, innovation and policy leadership. We bring together business leaders and key stakeholders to engage in influential policy discussions and business initiatives while building connections that propel the clean energy industry forward. Our results-oriented team is highly skilled at turning a clear vision into reality and effectively influencing policy to build a world-class clean energy hub in the Northeast. The New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC) was formed in late 2006 when leaders in the Massachusetts’ clean energy industry saw the need for a regional business association to convene clean energy stakeholders dedicated to growing the state and the region’s clean energy economy. In October 2015, reflecting our growing activities in New York State and the rapidly growing community of member companies doing business in New York and across New England, NECEC became the Northeast Clean Energy Council. In September 2024, NECEC rebranded to ACT (The Alliance for Climate Transition) to reflect our expanding member base and broader mission to transition to a diverse climate economy.

🚨 Words Matter: The Administration’s Attack on Climate & Clean Energy The Trump administration is systematically erasing words like "clean energy", "climate crisis" and "climate science" from federal government websites and agency communications. This isn’t just about semantics—it’s an intentional effort to suppress public discourse, dismantle progress, and rewrite the narrative on climate action. When government agencies stop acknowledging the climate crisis, they stop planning for it. When they erase clean energy, they undermine the economic opportunities and innovation that have been driving job growth and lower energy costs. This is more than just a shift in language; it’s an attempt to stall the transition to a sustainable, resilient energy future—one that the private sector, states, and local communities are already investing in. The result will be to burden consumers with higher-cost energy and the impact of climate disasters. We cannot let politics silence reality. The climate transition is happening, and it’s delivering jobs, innovation, and economic growth. Removing words won’t change the facts—it only makes it harder to address them. Now more than ever, we must keep speaking up, pushing forward, and ensuring that science, truth, and progress aren’t erased.
