This month on Watt It Takes, I had the pleasure of speaking with Matanya Horowitz, CEO and Founder of AMP. AMP applies AI-powered sortation at scale to modernize the world’s recycling infrastructure and maximize the value of waste. I spoke to Matanya in front of a live audience for our summer recording of Watt It Takes at Powerhouse. I learned about Matanya’s journey from growing up as a homeschooled kid in Denver, to discovering his late father’s leadership in the world of robotics, to his commitment to changing the world’s approach to waste management through his company AMP. With 120 employees, over $180 million raised, and 350 operating robots across recycling facilities, AMP has enabled 2.5 million tons of recycled material and counting. In our conversation Matanya shared, “Originally, I thought it was important that people were really smart and driven, but what I found was that a shared vision of what the culture of the company should be is the most important thing.” Tune in to my conversation with Matanya via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen. Special thanks to the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund & J.P. Morgan for making this episode and live event possible. Lastly, this was our second live recording of Watt It Takes this year, and it’s a great preview of the energy and excitement that we're looking forward to seeing at our annual party, New Dawn, on October 24th. We’re on track to sell out in a few weeks so get your tickets while you can and I hope to see you there. #AI #Infrastructure #recycling #recyclingtechnology #advancedrecycling #circulareconomy #waste #cleantech #climatetech
