One of my favorite parts of running Supra is witnessing our community help each other succeed and unlock new career milestones together. This summer, our members absolutely crushed it: • 5 Supra members landed new, exciting product leadership roles at fantastic companies like Databricks and Shopify. • 2 members got promoted to Group PMs • 6 members got promoted to Director of product at amazing companies like Abode, Braze, and DraftKings. • 3 members landed new advisory roles. • 3 members navigated acquisitions, landing key roles at the acquiring companies • A member decided to leave their W-2 job to become a founder • A member launched their new YC startup. • A member joined the board of a local non-profit organization. I get so much energy from seeing our members succeed. Each member's achievement inspires and motivates others, creating a positive ripple effect throughout our community. Let's keep this incredible momentum going as we head into fall! 💪 -- Enjoy this? Follow Marc Baselga. P.S. Founder @Supra | Helping product leaders accelerate their careers through peer learning and community | Ex-Asana

How much does a VP of Product at a Series D/E company make in NYC? Base Salary: $300K - $400k Equity: 0.4% - 0.60% Question for the broader product community: • Is this data consistent with what you're seeing in the market? • What product role and (private) company size should we cover next? More details about the salary benchmark: • Level/seniority of the role: VP • Series E company valuation assumption: $500M - 1B • Equity is expressed as a percentage of fully diluted shares and covers the full 4-year initial grant The ranges above come from a combination of sources: 1) Friends of Carta program; 2) fairoffer.ai; 3) What I've seen from Supra members's offers. To increase salary transparency, I will post Salary benchmarks for product leadership roles at private companies every two weeks. I also shared how to leverage Carta and Fairoffer.ai to access these insights in the comments 👇 --- Enjoy this? Follow Marc Baselga. P.S. In episode 23 of the Supra Insider podcast, Rich Mironov joined us to dive deep into B2B product management and explore how product leaders can level up their collaboration with GTM executives. This conversation is a must-listen for anyone navigating the complex world of product leadership, especially in B2B environments. Ben Erez and I got a ton of practical insights from it, and we think you will, too. Rich is one of the OG product guys, boasting over 30 years of experience in product management. He's parachuted into a dozen software companies as interim CPO and now focuses on blogging and coaching product executives, product management teams, and revenue software organizations. Our conversation covered: • Balancing go-to-market needs with long-term product strategy • Understanding incentives in sales-driven organizations • Building cross-functional relationships for product success • Debunking sales and marketing team misconceptions • Strategies for influencing executive decisions • Tackling burnout among product leaders • Assessing company culture during job searches • And much more! Allison has had an incredible career as a marketing leader and advisor, and this episode was jam-packed with actionable tips. This episode is essential for founders looking to level up their marketing game and get more leverage out of their marketing leaders. Ben Erez and I learned a ton. I think you will too. Our conversation covered the following: • What founders get wrong when it comes to marketing • The benefits of continuously workshopping your company’s narrative • The value of establishing an authentic online voice as a founder • Allison’s learnings from creating consistent and engaging content • Setting up effective partnerships between product and marketing • Allison’s transition to supporting founders as a marketing partner at BCV • And more! 🎙️ New podcast of Supra Insider is live with Chris Hulls, founder & CEO of Life360 (Nasdaq:LIF). It's jam-packed with hard-earned founder wisdom from 15+ years of building a company. This was a really special episode for me because Life360 is where I first discovered product management - I recently shared the story of how Chris hired me at the series B stage after teaching me to drive stick in an M3 (see ep 15 for that one). I also just love the product and have used it continuously with my wife for the last ten years to replace the "where are you?" and "did you leave yet?" texts. While we didn't re-tell the BMW story in this conversation, Marc Baselga and I covered a bunch of ground with Chris in this episode that will be relevant to product-minded founders and startup product leaders: 🌎 Chris's journey from founding Life360 to taking the company public 🌎 The qualities Chris looks for in product leaders at different growth stages 🌎 His views on metric-driven product culture and the lean startup ideology 🌎 Why Chris brought on Gibson Biddle as an interim product leader and his reflections on the experience hiring fractional executives 🌎 How Life360 maintains agility as it scales 🌎 Chris's approach to building conviction and product taste as a founder 🌎 The challenges and benefits of being a publicly traded company 🌎 Chris’s future aspirations and continued motivation after 17 years in the business 🌎 And more! I'm pumped for you to check it out. Episode links in the comments 👇

Should I launch a Maven course? How big of a lift is it to get started? Is it worth it? Can I launch a course if I don't have a big following? These are common questions I've heard product leaders ask themselves in the last 6 months. In the latest episode of the Supra Insider pod, Ben Erez tackles these questions head-on. He shares his journey of running his first Maven course, offering a goldmine of insights for aspiring course creators. Ben is super transparent about his motivation, numbers, learnings, challenges, and future plans. So, if you have ever considered getting into the cohort-based course game, this episode is for you.
