  • It was an honor to host this event at our Armsdale Test & Learn facility and to officially welcome HOLON to Jacksonville. Thank you to Mayor Donna Deegan and the City of Jacksonville for their support in this endeavor. We couldn't be more excited for our shared future and the growth for our community that is on its way.

It was a historic day in our City yesterday as German autonomous electric vehicle manufacturer HOLON announced they will be making Jacksonville the home for their first-ever U.S. plant. "I love to see our city be a trendsetter, and this is an incredible opportunity for Jacksonville to be at the forefront of critical technology that will power our future," said Mayor Donna Deegan during the groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday. "The mindset of Jacksonville not being able to do big, bold things is over. We are driving boldly in the future, signaling to tech companies that they have a home here, leading the way on AI, and getting new public transportation options rolling." HOLON is investing $100 million into this new 500,000 square foot autonomous vehicle plant, which will be located off of Zoo Parkway. Expected to be completed in mid-2026, it will bring 200 jobs initially, with the potential to add another 200. Not only will this be HOLON's first U.S. manufacturing plant, but it will also be the first auto manufacturer to build vehicles in Florida. The City of Jacksonville is happy to back this groundbreaking project with a $7.5 million grant and another $200,000 in training grants. Welcome to Duval HOLON!

  • Today marks a landmark event in the continued growth of Jacksonville and the Northeast Florida region. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is proud to announce that HOLON, a subsidiary of the global vehicle manufacturer BENTELER Group, is coming to the US and will make Jacksonville its first manufacturing location.   This is the culmination of years of dedicated effort on the part the JTA’s Board of Directors, CEO Nat Ford, the Executive Leadership Team straight down to our front-line staff, our various partners in the U2C program, as well as the City of Jacksonville, our Mayor Donna Deegan, City Council, the JAX Chamber, and many others.    An autonomous vehicle manufacturer based right here on the First Coast signals to the rest of the nation that Jacksonville and Florida will be the epicenter of innovation in mobility. Thank you to everyone who worked towards the U2C’s bold vision and making this day a reality. Together, we will build a stronger, better connected Northeast Florida. #u2c #movingforward #jacksonville

  • “Promoting Good Health ONE RIDE at a Time”. During the Pandemic, back in March of 2021, when the Jacksonville Transportation Authority teamed up with Agape Family Health to retrofit a pair of our buses into mobile vaccination units that could go anywhere in the community, we could only hope for the success the Wellness on Wheels program would achieve. Delivering vaccinations to neighborhoods across Jacksonville at the time it was needed the most, receiving national & international praise from the transportation industry. 3 years later and we are proud to partner with our friends at Baptist Health to roll out the Stroke Bus, bringing better awareness and good cognitive health to every corner of Jax. The Wellness on Wheels Stroke Bus program is hitting the streets to conduct outreach, mobile health screenings and education in the community, focusing on areas with a higher incidence of health disparities. Thanks to everyone who played a part in developing this initiative, and a big shout out to our JTA Operations & Maintenance professionals who worked to prepare these mobile units for their mission 💯 #movingforward #wellness

  • WJXT- News4Jax came out to the JTA to take our new Brooklyn AV Circulator for an autonomous, wheelchair accessible & 100% EV ride. We're excited they had a great time, and now we want everyone in NE Florida to come by and experience some future technology first-hand. Operating weekdays Mon-Fri through October 25th, 11am-2pm, making 14 stops along Riverside Ave in the Brooklyn neighborhood, as well as stoping at our main transit hub the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla. There is an on-board driving attendant, 14 passenger seats, and 2 wheelchair locking points. #autonomousvehicles #movingforward #mobility #jacksonville

  • "Art pulls a community together." The JTA is moving forward with the spirit of creativity & community by investing in Jax's NW neighborhoods. We're updating over 100 bus stops & shelters with upgrades including better lighting and digital info screens. And best of all, seven of the new shelters will feature artwork by local Jacksonville artists. The JTA, working with the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville and City Councilwoman Ju'Coby Pittman, held public meetings to be sure that residents had the opportunity to be involved and had a voice in the selection process. The final works that will be displayed on the shelters will be announced soon 🎉🎨🚌 Check out some great coverage from Jacksonville's First Coast News. #movingforward #infrastructure #jacksonville

  • The JTA is Moving Forward, building a stronger, better-connected Northeast Florida today and for the future. Today was a great celebration of this work. Service enhancements that include increased frequency on select routes began this week. We launched the Brooklyn AV Circulator, a free service for community members to try AV technology. We hosted a public meeting for the community to view an inspiring collection of local artwork and provide feedback on that will be featured in transit locations along the Northwest Corridor. And finally, we celebrated our customers this morning with a platform party at the JRTC to honor our future together. • Since the day we broke ground on the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla (JRTC), the Jacksonville Transportation Authority has been driven to revitilize this historic neighborhood back to its glory days.   We can't wait to bring back good coffee, breakfast & lunch options, and a new place to meet and greet in downtown Jax ☕️🍩❤️ Grounds Of Grace Cinottis Bakery and Sandwich Shop

  • A multidisciplined team from the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and our construction partners, along with members of the Jacksonville Transportation Advisory Committee (JTAC), took a tour along the future Bay Street Innovation Corridor. The BSIC is part of our autonomous vehicle U2C program, and the feedback we received from JTAC will ensure that the disabled community will benefit from this future mobility service coming to Jacksonville in 2025. Another example of our “Boots on the ground” style, again led by SVP Greer Johnson Gillis and her team from system planning, construction, customer experience, facilities, and safety, this time traveling through Jax’s NW Corridor. This bus tour allowed for in-person inspecting of the various bus shelters and stops that have been designated for improvements. These future shelters will feature custom artwork from local artists, on-site technology to allow real time information, and several safety upgrades. Thanks to our project partners from JacobsBalfour Beatty US, and England-Thims & Miller, Inc. for their time and expertise. #movingforward #accessibility #mobility
