Dear Community, Today is a very difficult day for all of us who believe in the freedom of movement and the right of every individual to seek safety, find peace, and be treated with dignity. As we all try to move through today, I want you to know that we remain laser-focused on the work of defending and uplifting the rights of immigrants throughout this country and are committed to leveraging every tool at our disposal to protect our vulnerable immigrant neighbors. We were founded in 2007 by national immigrants' rights organizations and Pro Bono Net to help immigrants safely access reliable immigration legal resources. While much has changed since then, our dedication to working hand-in-hand with the immigrant rights movement to identify common challenges and develop innovative new responses has not. We’ve been through difficult moments as a movement before and stand ready to work alongside all of you to meet our new reality face on. Thank you for your humanity, trust, and belief in the work that we do. In unity, Rodrigo & the Justicia Lab Team https://lnkd.in/e7WXeKhQ

ICYMI, this week The New York Times spotlighted the federal government's efforts for processing citizenship requests at the fastest clip in a decade, moving through a backlog that built up during the previous administration and pandemic. Justicia Lab's free, flagship tool, Citizenshipworks, has helped over 60,000 legal permanent residents understand the naturalization process, apply for citizenship and access legal help from our partner network. When USCIS announced sweeping changes to the naturalization form earlier this year, our team pulled off an incredible feat of updating Citizenshipworks to incorporate these changes in just 63 days - in three languages! - to ensure we were ready on Day 1 to support current and new applicants using the new form. We strive to make applying for citizenship safer, simpler, and more affordable. 💡 Learn more about Citizenshipworks, here: https://lnkd.in/eRBMbtTn 🗞 You can read the New York Times article, “Immigrants Are Becoming U.S. Citizens at Fastest Clip in Years,” here: https://lnkd.in/efED7Ms2
