Keller Postman LLC has achieved a monumental victory, securing a $60 million jury verdict in a groundbreaking trial against Mead Johnson, the manufacturer of Enfamil. This case is the first one in the nation to reach a verdict on the question of whether manufacturers of cow’s-milk based formula are responsible for causing necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in premature infants. The St. Clair, Illinois jury returned with a verdict after less than two hours of deliberation and sent a powerful message by awarding our client, Jasmine Watson, more than twice the damages we requested.   "This verdict confirms what Mead Johnson has known for years: cow’s-milk based baby formula causes NEC in preterm infants, often with fatal consequences," states Ben Whiting, Partner of Keller Postman.    Our pursuit of justice doesn't stop here. If approved, this settlement will resolve class claims against TaxAct arising from its alleged unauthorized disclosure of taxpayer information to third parties, including Meta and Google. Keller Postman Secures for Client, State of Texas, the Deposition of Meta Founder Mark Zuckerberg in Landmark Privacy Suit Two Texas courts have now confirmed that Texas is entitled to depose Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg as part of its suit against the Big Tech company for its billions of violations of Texas law spanning a decade. Keller Postman’s team—led by Zina Bash, Nick Larry, and Jessica Beringer—filed a lawsuit on behalf of the State of Texas in February 2022, alleging that Meta profited from its secret use of facial-recognition technology on Facebook and Instagram without users’ consent, thereby violating Texas’s biometric-privacy law and its deceptive-trade-practices act. Texas showed that Zuckerberg has unique and personal knowledge of the facts at the heart of the lawsuit, and the Texas courts agreed, marking a pivotal step in the State’s fight to promote transparency and to hold the tech giant accountable.
