Non-profit Organizations
We protect unaccompanied children every step of the way in their search for safety and protection.
About us
Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is the preeminent international nongovernmental organization devoted to the protection of unaccompanied and separated children. KIND envisions a world in which every unaccompanied child on the move has access to legal representation and has their rights and well-being protected as they migrate alone in search of safety. In 2008, KIND was founded by the Microsoft Corporation and Co-Founder and Patron Angelina Jolie to address the gap in legal services for unaccompanied children. KIND now has offices and staff across the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Our team, and KIND’s extensive network of private sector pro bono and NGO partners provide unaccompanied children with innovative holistic care that includes legal representation and assistance and psychosocial support. Young people who have been trafficked in Scotland are increasingly at risk of homelessness, making them more vulnerable to re-exploitation. JustRight Scotland's report highlights the gaps in the support system that leave these young people vulnerable. There is urgent need for more robust governmental policies and specialized care that prioritize the safety and rehabilitation of trafficking survivors. It's crucial we all advocate for the systemic change necessary to provide these young people with the protection and support they deserve. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ehbDr6Gw

Art Market Productions, New York City's premier showcase dedicated to paper-based art provided an incredible opportunity for our client artists to show their work to a new audience and for KIND to educate visitors about unaccompanied children. One of our clients, Yon, visited the show to see his work displayed among hundreds of accredited artists. Here's what he had to say about the experience: “I felt both nostalgic and proud of my painting. The people that viewed my work would take a look at the art and be impressed. When I walked around the whole Art on Paper fair, I thought about everything I’m capable of and the heights I’m able to reach if I put my mind to it.” We thank Art on Paper on behalf of our clients for this opportunity and the inspiration and confidence it gave them!
