Mary Friedl & I had a great time attending the annual UK Design Career Fair, in Lexington last week. Jonathan Mills, Mitzi Vernon, Carly Hagins, and others were exceptionally gracious hosts and are building something really exciting for aspiring industrial designers in central Kentucky. I loved meeting so many enthusiastic students, hearing about their projects, and seeing the newly renovated 100,000 sq ft Gray Design Building. Among the highlights of the space were: - the expansive & well-lit studio spaces - a spate of historically significant & iconic chairs from the all-time great designers - the Maker Suite, featuring a digital knitting machine, Large CNC Router, 3D Printers and much more If you're as passionate about industrial design and ID education as I am, stop in and check it out! It's worth the time.
