Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, Molex, a Koch company, recently completed construction of a massive state-of-the-art facility in Guadalajara, Mexico, with only one lost-time incident and no major injuries. Molex’s application of Koch’s Stewardship Framework — including its commitment to complying with all laws and regulations — has had a lasting influence on the community, local government leaders and the contractors who worked on the project.  The project’s main contractor, Grupo Chufani, says it’s applying the lessons learned from Molex about a principled approach to safety and compliance into future contracts with other large corporations. When Harold Summers, reliability manager at our corrugated facility in Martinsville, Virginia, identified a critical safety risk in a maintenance task, he dedicated nearly a decade to developing a solution– the threader winder machine. Summers' innovation began with one focus: making sure employees go home the way they showed up to work. It significantly reduces the risks associated with changing the massive double backer belts, while also increasing efficiency. Yash worked closely with her supervisor to realize her dream of becoming a project manager, a goal she achieved with his support in just five months. And Lennox turned the news of a role elimination into an opportunity to try something different, leveraging untapped potential to land a brand-new role.
