Industry collaboration at its finest, led in part by our own Brett Ormrod. We're proud to have contributed to this excellent work! #InvestingTodayForTomorrow
The ARESI White Paper (https://lnkd.in/gAJTNybd), developed by an industry working group including Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC), CBRE Investment Management, UCL and RICS, is a significant step towards harmonising sustainability indicators across the European real estate sector. By aligning key performance indicators (KPIs) with regulatory frameworks such as the EU Taxonomy, SFDR, and EPBD, the White Paper aims to reduce inconsistencies in sustainability reporting and make investment decisions more informed and transparent. Through collaboration with industry stakeholders, the working group proposed ten climate transition indicators, offering standardised definitions and methodologies. This was then tested with a consultation process, identifying data availability challenges but proving that a unified methodology can boost investment confidence and reduce reporting burdens. The Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) is proud to have contributed to this effort, supporting the development of the harmonised indicators. The ten indicators have been mapped to key regulations and industry tools, including the BBP Acquisitions Sustainability Toolkit (AST: https://lnkd.in/etDbfUmV), providing clear guidance on how to operationalise the ARESI project’s conclusions in property transactions. This paper was authored by Hugh Garnett (Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC)), Peter Walker and Robbie Epsom (CBRE Investment Management), Kell Jones (UCL) and Gina Adela Ding (RICS), and endorsed by CBRE Investment Management, CRREM Project, DWS Group, INREV, UCL, Urban Land Institute, RICS, JLL, CREFC Europe, LaSalle Investment Management, and Savills Investment Management. Thank you also to our Investor Engagement working group co-chairs, Brett Ormrod and Julie Townsend.

What a busy (and productive) week we had at MIPIM! Thanks Drew McNeill for the roundup, and to everyone on the LaSalle team who made this last week such a success. We're already looking forward to doing it again in 2026! #InvestingTodayForTomorrow
Real estate must do more to sell itself to global investors. Real estate has got a lot going for it: pricing corrections, stable leasing and sensible forward-looking returns. If ever there was a time to get better at articulating the why, it’s today … particularly in the face of increasingly stiff competition from other asset classes. The sun is finally out at #Mipim2025 and the LaSalle Investment Management team is in Cannes to reinforce the case: 🌇Check out MIPIM News with LaSalle Investment Management’s head of Europe, Philip La Pierre, on why it’s a good time to re-enter real estate. 🏗️Thank you to UK Cities & Partners for having our European COO Beverley Kilbride on stage at the UK Investors Reception to discuss the drivers for, and levers required to unlock, some of the UK’s most exciting developments. 💶And, here’s our head of real estate debt strategies, Dave White, on Business Immo TV with Luc-Etienne Rouillard Lafond discussing the European real estate debt investing landscape and our capabilities: https://lnkd.in/eAKpvnX7 It’s been great catching up this week with the teams at ULI Europe, INREV and British Property Federation to further drive this message home. #InvestingTodayForTomorrow

How should institutional investors seek out reliable income in 2025? One answer for many investors has been increasing allocations to private credit. Elevated interest rates and repriced assets have led to improved lending conditions for alternative funding providers. In this video update, our Portfolio Manager and President of LaSalle Debt Investors, Craig Oram, and Head of Capital Markets, Americas, Alexandra Levy, discuss what makes the opportunity in real estate debt today one of the best times to invest.
