We’re proud to share that the International Astronautical Federation inducted our CTO and Co-Founder Dr. Edward Lu into its Hall of Fame today during the #IAC2024 in Milan, Italy. 🎉 As a physicist, engineer, pilot, former NASA astronaut, inventor, educator, and serial co-founder, Ed has dedicated his career to mapping the unknown and the unseen to prevent disasters both in #space and on Earth. At LeoLabs, he leads the development of innovative technologies that identify, track, and monitor objects and activity in LEO, including potentially disastrous on-orbit collisions. While he’s well-known for his impressive achievements, Ed is also known by his colleagues and friends for his humor, honesty, and collaborative spirit—and we’re proud to have him on our team. Congratulations, Ed! Learn more about this recognition and Ed’s visionary contributions to the global space community below.

LeoLabs is proud to join the growing list of signatories to the European Space Agency - ESA Zero Debris Charter during #IAC2024. As the leader in monitoring, tracking, and characterizing breakup events and other threatening orbital activities, we aim to prevent disasters in space that could impact our way of life on Earth. We’re honored to join this critical effort as we continue to help operators navigate the increasingly contested and congested space environment. #SpaceSustainability
🥳The Zero Debris Charter community keeps growing and has now gone intercontinental: Mexico and New Zealand signed the Charter at #IAC2024. Together with another 23 companies and institutes they bring the total to over a 100 signatories. Today's country signatures are representative of nations with new space programmes, like Mexico, who want to ensure Earth orbits are not polluted beyond repair before expanding their own activities into space. Meanwhile, New Zealand, a champion in the domain of sustainability, finds an alignment in the Charter with their own values around protecting the planet we have inherited. And we’re not slowing down anytime soon! Learn who has already signed the Charter or plans to & find out how to join the Zero Debris community with your organisation or company 👉 https://lnkd.in/eneEHjrC 📸 Mexico and New Zealand representatives sign the Zero debris Charter at the IAC: Salvador Landeros Layala, General Director of the AGENCIA ESPACIAL MEXICANA, Iain Cossar, Head of the New Zealand Space Agency, together with Josef Aschbacher, ESA Director General and Luca Parmitano, ESA astronaut. Sharing a few photos from my amazing to visit the LeoLabs Azores Space Radar in Santa Maria. Many thanks to Paulo Ricardo Braga Moniz Quental for his hospitality throughout our visit and our site tour led by João Luis Reis Fidalgo Neves. It was a fantastic day learning about the important role Santa Maria plays in the Space Ecosystem for Portugal and Europe. This sensor is an important part of our global network and we are excited to explore new ways to deepen our relationships across the continent. After my visit to the Azores, I connected with Moataz AbdelAzim who leads our EMEA region and is doing a fantastic job developing this market.
