From the Ak Orda Presidential Palace to Lovers Park, this SAR image captures the heart of Astana in stunning detail. But seeing this city in winter isn’t easy—harsh weather and heavy cloud coverage often obscure the view for traditional satellites. Captured in late November, this image cuts through the clouds, revealing Kazakhstan’s capital with clarity only SAR can provide. Whether monitoring urban landscapes, infrastructure, or seasonal change, Capella delivers reliable insights—rain, snow, or shine. Coastal security never sleeps—neither should your intelligence. Illegal fishing, smuggling, unmarked vessels—maritime threats don’t wait for clear skies or daylight. But with SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar), you don’t have to either. Our latest blog dives into how SAR is transforming coastal surveillance, giving national security teams the clarity they need to detect threats, enforce sovereignty, and protect critical waters—anytime, any weather. Across the Solar System - and beyond - one geographic feature appears on most solid celestial bodies: the crater. Some craters form from impacts, while others belong to active or extinct volcanoes. The one below isn’t on Mars or the Moon - it’s the lava-filled summit caldera of Kīlauea, with the Halemaʻumaʻu pit crater inside it. This volcano has been erupting since December, and this particular image was captured on February 12 by Capella Space's Capella 15 satellite. Volcanoes are unpredictable, making rapid response to eruptions critical. SAR enables detailed imaging of volcanic activity from a safe distance - day or night, in any weather. P.S.: Let us know in the comments if there is a crater you like and we'll snap it. 🌋 Capella 15 | 0.25 m Spotlight Ultra mode | 3 looks 📸 🛰️ Any sites you want to observe regardless of time of day or weather? SAR imaging in Stripmap mode might be a good start. Just pick a point and order a fresh image: https://app.sfera.earth/ #SAR #volcano #Hawaii
