Our January Show Us Your Truck photo contest winner! Congratulations to Leonard's professional driver, Jeffrey Fenner. We recently reinvigorated our Show Us Your Truck photo submissions into a photo contest to encourage more drivers to participate and get creative in their downtime by showing off their trucks across the country. Not only does this give our social media team authentic content to distribute, but it also allows us to better connect with our drivers and give them something fun to look forward to while over the road.

Dave Forgie has done a great job keeping an eye on preventive maintenance schedules and improving equipment efficiency at Leonard's Express, but it's not why we chose him as our Fleet Maintenance magazine 2024 Executive Overachiever. It's because Forgie empowers the maintenance team to do what they think is right and gives them leeway to be wrong. “Don’t be scared to make a decision," Forgie told me during our interview. "If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. We’ll fix it, and we’ll know for next time.” He got a big part of his leadership strategy--making sure the staff is happy and enjoys what they do--from one former boss who saw other's successes as a threat. “I try to do the exact opposite,” Forgie said. For the past nine years, we have volunteered our trucks, and drivers and their time to the Wreaths Across America mission to honor those who served in our armed forces. This year, one of our professional drivers and Marine Corps veteran, Mike Holder, participated in the Wreath-laying Ceremony in Jacksonville, Florida. As a veteran himself, and recipient of our prestigious Marine Corps wrapped truck, Mike takes great pride in participating in the Wreaths Across America Program each year. "I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Leonard’s Express for your generous support in transporting our wreaths to Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Florida these past nine years... We were especially honored to have Mike Holder as our driver this year. Growing up, we would spend a whole day shopping for, sorting, and then delivering coats to the Salvation Army. My grandparents were invested in doing this every year and making sure my siblings, cousins, and I were very involved. I cannot express how thankful I am to the community at Leonard’s Express for continuing to collect coats in my grandfather, KJ’s, honor every year since his passing. He would have loved to see this.
