Meet Donavon Burns, a high school student from Thousand Islands Secondary School in Brockville, who recently wrapped up a semester as an apprentice mechanic in our Prescott shop under the guidance of our Parts & Maintenance Supervisor, Ben Visser. With parents in the trucking industry, Donavon grew up around big rigs and developed a passion for understanding how they work. He recently purchased his first car—a BMW—and is eager to learn everything about fixing and maintaining it. When asked what he enjoyed most about his time at Kriska, he shared, “Learning about how things operate and function, like how the little components make everything work.” Donavon is planning to work toward his 310T mechanic certification and hopes to join the industry full-time in the future. We’re proud to be part of his journey and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes!

We’re pleased to announce that Reagan Seymour has been selected for the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Elevate Young Leadership Program for 2025! This program is designed to nurture leadership, enhance skills, and foster meaningful connections within the transportation industry. The Elevate Program will build on the leadership foundation Reagan developed through the Ontario Trucking Association’s Next Generation Program in 2014, where she was part of its inaugural group. Reflecting on her selection, Reagan shared, “It’s exciting to see the industry beginning to embrace the value of younger generations and new perspectives, especially as social factors like technology and social media gain traction.” Through the Elevate Program, Reagan will explore areas such as government affairs, safety, and cross-border dynamics while engaging in leadership-focused discussions. In-person sessions at key TCA events will offer her unique opportunities to network with senior leaders and other emerging transportation talent from across North America. This blend of learning and connection will allow Reagan to gain fresh insights and bring valuable takeaways to KTG. This December, Kriska employees embraced the holiday spirit by wearing their favourite PJs to work and donating a new pair of children’s pajamas. Their generosity resulted in 79 pairs of cozy PJs, now on their way to brighten the holidays for kids in need through the South Grenville (SG) Food Bank We were glad to also contribute a monetary donation to the food bank, raised through our Christmas Craft Fundraiser supported by Green Things and a generous driver’s donation. At this time of year and always, kindness makes the difference🎄

Over the past several weeks, the team at our Mississauga terminal have been collecting non-perishable food items.
