Saving lives through organ and tissue donation
About us
Mission Statement: To save, enhance and change lives through organ and tissue donation. LifeCenter, "A Donate Life Organization," encourages and coordinates the donation of organs and tissues for transplantation, working with the Greater Cincinnati area hospitals and transplant centers. LifeCenter's clinical staff provides 24-hour service for referrals, case management, recovery and organ placement when donation occurs. Our education staff provides programs for schools, civic and community groups, religious institutions and healthcare professionals. Additional services offered by LifeCenter include bereavement services for donor families, volunteer opportunities, and donor registry drives for area businesses and organizations that facilitate the enrollment of donors.

Dr. Shimul Shah, Division Chief of Transplantation at UC Health, and a member of LifeCenter's Medical Advisory Board, will be leaving Cincinnati to become Massachusetts General Hospital's Chief of Transplant and Clinical Director of the Transplant Center. LifeCenter could not be more grateful for the incredible, life-saving work of Dr. Shah; his efforts have saved thousands of lives in our community. Barry Massa, LifeCenter's Executive Director, said, "Dr. Shah is a tremendous advocate for the patients waiting for transplants in our community. Through his leadership, UC Health’s transplant division is one of the top performing transplant centers. Dr. Shah provided clinical leadership to the LifeCenter team through his daily interactions, as well as serving on the Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Shah will be greatly missed.” Thank you, Dr. Shah. Mass General will be lucky to have your talents, advocacy, and expertise! #donationchampion #transplantdoctors #organtransplant #thankyou #leadership #savinglives #donationsaveslives

“Michael’s legacy is not only his beautiful children and his music, but also his gift of donation. I would advise others to consider becoming donors because I have been blessed to have my son become a donor, and my mother become a recipient.” - Elizabeth Thompson, Mother of Michael Thompson, Tissue Donor

LifeCenter would like to share our recent success implementing a procedure called Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) for the first time in Cincinnati. NRP allows for the donor gifts to be better preserved, which aids in safer and more effective transplantation. The donation was a success and resulted in a liver transplant that would not have been possible without the use of this technology. Thank you to the donor and their family for their generous decision to say "Yes" to organ donation. #organdonation #newtechnology #savinglives #thankyou #donorhero #donorssavelives

LifeCenter is the proud sponsor of the 6th Annual Cincinnati Sneaker Ball 👟 on Saturday, August 10th at TQL Stadium This year, we’re excited to collaborate with custom sneaker designer Donny The Dybbuk whose unique creations often feature dice, symbolizing making your own luck. 🎲 👟 This powerful message connects to organ donation, where you have the chance to make a life-saving impact. You don’t want to “roll the dice” on making a difference. Proceeds from the Cincinnati SneakerBall will support Bigger Than Sneakers’ mission, which includes empowering and inspiring youth through workshops, events, and their mentorship program, BTS Academy (Bigger Than Sneakers, Inc.), Everything Cincy, and Eventbrite. Will we see you there? #DonateLIfe #CincinnatiSneakerBall #LifeCenter #BiggerThanSneakers #OrganDonation #DybbukNY
