Once again, it's the end of the week, which means it's time for another #SafetyFriday chat. This week we're focusing on the importance of performing comprehensive inspections before moving a vehicle. All employees operating company vehicles must complete a Circle of Safety Walk Around to identify any obstacles or potential hazards such as poles, low branches, potholes, signs, fire hydrants, etc. This inspection also allows workers to ensure that trailers are correctly attached and that all equipment is stowed and appropriately secured. By performing this simple, yet vital inspection, we're working to ensure that we're protecting our employees, our customers, and members of the public. #Safety #SafetyFirst #WorkplaceSafety #JobsiteSafety #CoreValues #LightspeedCG #FullCircleFamily

This week for #toolboxthursday we're talking about the impact of extreme weather, particularly hurricanes, and how to stay safe during a severe weather event. In the United States, hurricane season typically runs from June 1 to November 30, with the peak occurring between mid-August and late October. Severe weather events, including hurricanes, can have a significant impact on telecommunications infrastructure, leading to disruptions in communication services. This can pose challenges for emergency response efforts and public safety. To mitigate these risks, telecommunications companies invest in resilient infrastructure and emergency preparedness plans. They may also deploy mobile cell sites and portable cell towers to affected areas to restore communication services quickly. In the event of a severe weather event, it is important for individuals to have alternative communication methods, such as landline phones, two-way radios, mobile hotspots, or satellite phones, as well as access to emergency alerts and information from local authorities. Additionally, staying informed through radio broadcasts and emergency alerts is vital during severe weather events. By being proactive and prepared, we can mitigate the impact of severe weather on telecommunications and ensure that vital communication channels remain open. #HurricaneSeason #SevereWeather #Telecommunications #DisasterPreparedness #EmergencyCommunication #EmergencyPreparedness #EmergencyPlanning
