About us
The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance is a Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Office located in Central Virginia. Our region combines the counties of Appomattox, Amherst, Campbell, and Bedford, and the City of Lynchburg. The Alliance is the only organization of its kind in the Commonwealth of Virginia (being both a Chamber and Economic Development Office). Being founded in 1883 and formally known as the Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce, the Alliance was one of the first Chambers of Commerce in Virginia and a founding member of the U.S. Chamber. The Alliance is also one of nearly 115 Chambers in the nation who have earned Five-Star Accreditation from the U.S. Chamber, putting our organization in the top .03% of all Chambers! The Alliance focuses on promoting entrepreneurial start-ups, business expansion and retention, and new job creation; advocacy; workforce development; connecting people and businesses; community, minority, and small business development; and the cultivation of local and regional leadership. Thursday night, the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance co-hosted the "2024 Lynchburg City Council: Conversations with the Candidates!" with Alliance member, Cardinal News. With over 100 civic minded Lynchburg citizens in attendance, this event brought the community together for an up-close opportunity to meet the candidates and hear them outline their vision and goals for the city's future. The diversity of perspectives and contrasting views left attendees with little doubt about where the candidates stood on a wide range of issues.
