A child’s first day of school is an exciting day that many parents/caregivers like to share about on their social media pages with a picture of their child(ren) holding a “First Day of School” board. While these pictures posted are fun and cute, they also can be dangerous because the information shown can be used by an abuser to bait your child. Here are some tips and information to help keep your child safe when posting about their first day of school on social media. We hope your child has a wonderful first day and a wonderful school year!

About us
Care House is a child-friendly, family-centered facility that coordinates the complex investigation, prosecution, and treatment services to victims of child sexual and physical abuse. A component of this program is the Coordinated Forensic interview. All of the professionals involved in a child abuse investigation gather at Care House to observe the forensic interview via closed circuit television, while the trained forensic interviewer meets with the child one on one. This eliminates the need for the child to repeat his or her story and relive the trauma of the abuse over and over again. Our single interview promotes collaboration and communication among a group of professionals who previously had limited opportunities for interaction. This team approach expedites the investigation of the child abuse cases, making the process more effective for everyone involved. We offer support, information and educational programs to child victims and their families to promote the healing process and break the cycle of abuse in future generations.

Care House hosted our second Stop-N-Shop in which families were able to come and pick up back to school items for their kids! We were able to provide back to school necessities for more than 100 children in our community!
