We believe in the transformative power of purpose-driven marketing. More than just catchy slogans, Madwell creates movements that resonate and inspire.
We were honored to partner with e.l.f. on their "DUPE THAT!" campaign, a testament to their unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact.
We had such a blast helping them create a full double-page ad in the New York Times, the most heartwarming 2D unicorn video you'll ever see, and a surprisingly realistic CGI unicorn parade all to help them bring this campaign to life.
e.l.f. is a special brand that continues to go above and beyond. They're not just creating amazing products; they're democratizing beauty and setting a new standard for purpose-driven business.
Think e.l.f. is just another 'dupe' brand? Think again. Consumers are demanding more than just products; they want purpose. They want to see more brands like e.l.f., and so do we. 🌍✨
And a huge thanks to the incredible team at E.L.F. BEAUTY for their vision and commitment to making a difference. 🫶🦄
As a purpose-led, results-driven company, everything we do is fueled by our vision to be a bold disruptor with a kind heart, we have an unequivocal ambition to make positive impacts on people, product and the planet. ❤️ 🌎
And we want to gather as many other likeminded companies together to make the world an even better place.
Introducing ‘DUPE THAT!’
The campaign encourages the community to read e.l.f.’s FY 2024 Impact Report and participate in being good and doing good. The company believes an environment in which companies lift each other up to do better elevates the entire playing field so we all win.
“The more we unapologetically lean into our purpose, the stronger the signals to keep using our megaphone to help make the world an increasingly brighter place for every eye, lip and face. At e.l.f.’s core is democratizing access – to the best of beauty, to wealth creation, to level playing fields in sports and business, to wellness, to a better planet and, perhaps most importantly, to doing it all with kindness,” said Kory Marchisotto, e.l.f. Beauty’s CMO.
Our unicorn is flying, lifted by the community. Who else wants to join our parade? 🦄
Thank you to all those making our unicorn parade possible, especially our agency partners at Madwell.

At Madwell, diversity is not just a buzzword, it is core to everything we do. That is why it was so meaningful for us to take part in a critical discussion at Advertising Week New York about how to respond to what has become a real backlash against DEI.
Our own Tyrone G., Head of People & Culture joined a panel, “Post-Election 2024: How Brands Can Combat the DEI Backlash and Commit to Diversity,” with industry luminaries including Nadja Bellan-White, Christine Capone, and Rana Reeves. They engaged in a lively exchange of ideas around how brands and agencies can build diverse and talented teams that can better speak authentically to consumers - not despite, but because of their differing perspectives.
Having diverse teams is not about checking off boxes, it’s a business imperative that not only improves work culture but also contributes positively to the bottom line.
It’s a conversation we have always had at Madwell and one we are glad to help bring to a larger industry audience.

Are you heading to SXSW next year? We want to see you there!
Madwell is proposing a panel called “What Does Creativity Look Like in 2050?” led by our illustrious CCO and co-founder Christopher Sojka to discuss the future of creativity in the advertising world.
Sojka sees a future in which the traditional holding company model will be obsolete, leading to the democratization of creativity. With the incorporation of quantum computing and other tech advancements in the creative process, teams will be able to solve creative challenges in an instant, leading to a higher diversity of thought and refined campaigns that better resonate with audiences.
But you can hear it from the man himself by voting for our panel to appear at SXSW at the link below. Voting is open now and ends on August 18th!

Our incredible Head of Integrated Strategy, Laura Bianchi, was just featured in an article for The Drum on how to cultivate new business relationships in order to grow.
Laura’s advice? Like most relationships, it’s all about 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁. Establish trust with new business prospects by sharing strategic reasoning for the barriers they face with their boards or leadership teams. Additionally, test ideas on a smaller scale to see if a theory can work before making large investments.
Thank you to The Drum for citing one of the strategic minds behind new business at Madwell.
